135-5 I have to admit. The first time I was served Twaen Jang Kuk, I found its smell to be revolting. I wondered how I could ever eat something so offensive to my nostrils. With my friend‘s mother looking on with anticipation, I brought a spoon of the unpleasant smelling soup to my mouth and was pleasantly surprised by its savory flavor. I learned a secret to Korean food that day : what smells repellent can sometimes taste wonderful beyond belief. |

154-4 What's truly amazing is the degree to which these South East Asian countries have put aside their centuries-old animosities in a spirit of peaceful co-existence and co-prosperity. The bad blood that kept them at each other's throat in a perpetual state of war, has been diluted by the prospects of wealth they see growing all around them. What remains to be seen is whether the hard feelings will return once the so-called "Pacific Century" comes to an end and their booming economies come back down to earth. |

영어를 잘하기 위한 세 가지 <기본>;
Grammar, Vocabulary. Pronunciation!
