Teatro Amintore Galli
The construction of the Municipal Theatre of Rimini began in 1843 and the opening ceremony began with Giuseppe Verdi's opera “Aroldo” in 1857. The theatre is named in honor of Italian composer Amintore Galli, who ran the theatre in 1864 and 1865

Castel Sismondo
Created by Sigismondo Malatesta the Lord of Rimini in the 1400’s, Castel Sismondo was once a large complex with surrounding walls but all that stands today is the central keep.
This impressive structure stills holds an important place in the culture and history if Rimini and exhibitions and markets are often held within the castle grounds.
Everything about the castle is unusual; from its irregular design, to its amalgamation of various different styles.
Porta Montanara
Palazzo Buonadrata-Battista
The historical Buondrata Palace dates from the late 17th century as the main residence of the Buonadrata family. The building was partially destroyed during the earthquake in 1786 and rebuilt by architect Giuseppe Achilli. Among the celebrities that stayed at the palace there were the queen of Naples, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Giuseppe Garibaldi. The facade of the building, the central staircase and the ballroom remained completely intact as they appeared centuries ago. Nowadays the palace is the headquarters of Cassa di Risparmio Foundation.

Piazza Tre Martiri
As the heart of the city, the Piazza Tre Martiri has played host to some historic moments in the history of Rimini and stands as a popular location that is full of important buildings.
To the southern end of the square you can find the small but impressive Tempietto di Sant Antonio and the Chiesa Dei Paolotti, whilst at the other end is a series of fantastic shops and high-quality restaurants and cafes.
Pałac Brioli
Located on the eastern side of the historic Piazza Tre Martiri, the Brioli Palace framing the clock tower (Torre dell'Orologio) was built in the 1547. The building was renovated in 1753 by architect Francesco Buonamici. In the middle of the 18th century the palace featured a science observatory. An interesting feature of the tower is the clock that shows days, months and zodiac signs. This astrological calendar appeared with the help of Domenico Carini in 1750. The palace was well-known among aristocrats and celebrities and this place housed names like Verdi, Prince Umberto di Savoia and Cardinal Bonaparte.
Piazza Tre Martiri was also the place where allegedly Julius Caesar uttered the famous words “alea jacta est” or “the die is cast” after having crossed the Rubicon on his way to Rome and power hence the Caesar’s sculpture at the square.
Tempietto di Sant Antonio
Tempio Malatestiano
This unfinished cathedral was constructed in the 9th century and was deemed to be completed in the 1400’s.
Sitting on Via IV Novembre, the cathedral looks almost finished, but it is clear that there should be a central tower on the front façade – instead there is a gap and an exposed brick wall.
Inside there is a plethora of decoration and religious artefacts including an ornate crucifix designed by Giotto and sculptures created by Agostino di Duccio.
Furthermore, there is also a host of marble and stucco artwork on the walls, columns and arches.

Arco di Augusto
Taking pride of place at the end of Corso d’Augusto, the Arch of Augustus is a fantastic site and the main historical structure that stands in the centre of Rimini.
Constructed in 27 BC, the arch was built as part of the Flaminia defences that was destroyed in the 1930’s and was named in honour of Caesar Augustus.
Originally, an impressive statue of the Emperor stood on top of the gateway, but this was replaced by the later medieval addition of crenulations.
Palazzo Lettimi
The Lettimi Palace was built in the early sixteenth century on the command of Carlo Maschi, a noble member of the government, and after his death was inherited by the Marcheselli family. In the 18th century this four-story palace passed to the Lettimi family, and was later donated to the Commune of Rimini. During World War II the beautiful building was destroyed and now all that remains are ruins and a passage that leads to the hidden Giardino degli Aromi garden. The rich decorations of the exhibition floor of the palace featured paintings by Marco Marchetti that depicted the heroic deeds of Scipio Africanus during the Second Punic War. Some of this paintings were preserved and can be seen an the City Museum of Rimini.
