To: CustomerService@sportsgear.com From: astavros@globecom.com Re: Client Account # 456780 Web Order#1088890 Sent, Friday, March 20 at |
To whom it may concern:
Approximately two weeks ago, I ordered a pair of gloves through your website. Shortly
thereafter, an order confirmation was delivered via e-mail which showed the status of my order as pending.I have since logged on several times to check if my account status has changed, but it appears that it is still pending. I did not receive any further updates as promised in the order confirmation, and, on the whole, I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with your company.
As it has taken so long to process, I wish to cancel my order. According to my bank records, I have been billed for the gloves but not the tax or shipping. Please refund my money directly into my bank account immediately. I had heard that Sports Gear Inc. offered outstanding service, but I’m very disappointed your company has not met my most basic expectations.
Sincerely, Alexander Stavros

[정답] (D)
183. What will the company most likely do next?
(A) Process the payment for tax and shipping
(B) Stop the order and credit his bank account*
(C) Send an e-mail updating him with the status of his order

[정답] (B)
184. How much does the company owe Mr. Stavros?
(A) $2.36
(B) $8.50
(C) $35.99*
(D) $46.85
[해설]
주문 확인서의 Merchandise Subtotal: $35.99 / Shipping Charge: $8.50 / Tax: $2.36 / Total: $46.85에서 총액은 46달러 85센트로 나와 있지만, 이메일의 According to my bank records, I have been billed for the gloves but not the tax or shipping.에서 세금과 배송비는 지불되지 않은 것으로 되어 있다고 했으므로 스타브로스 씨는 제품에 대한 가격인 35달러 99센트만 환불받게 된다.
[정답] (C)

I have enclosed the first draft from the graphic designer for your business sign. I adjusted the height as you requested and fixed the misspelling in the first line. I apologize for the mistake and hope that this draft meets your approval. Please review the designer’s draft, and notify me via fax about any other changes you would like for us to make. We will not begin the actual construction of the sign without your final approval of the design. Also, please remember that based on our original contract, the cost of the sign is due in full by the 10th of the month.
Sincerely,
Lori Belani

FAX Date: November 5 To: Lori Balani Fax: (636) 323-3534 No. of Pages Including Cover Sheet: 1 Message: Dear Ms. Balani, Thanks for sending me the revised draft of the sign. I think it looks great, and I am satisfied with the changes. I ran it by Mr. Farmer again, and he thinks it’s an improvement on the last design, but he wanted to ask for some additional adjustments. First, he is concerned about the spacing on the second line. He pointed out that the "s" in "associates" is too close to the edge and wondered if you couldn’t move it just a bit to the left. The spacing in general in line 2 is problematic, and he wanted to make sure that it was centered more across the length of the sign. Next, he noticed that the type in the separate, lower parking sign is different from the top sign. Please make certain that the font is uniform throughout the design. In general, we are pleased with your company’s work. Please send us a draft with the additional changes, and we should be ready to go for final approval. Also, we would like to speak with you about designing a smaller sign for our south side office - something in the range of $250 to $300 would be preferable. I’ll be contacting you early next week about the details for this sign. Based on our contractual agreement, I am enclosing check #2395 in the amount of $500. As always, thanks for all your help. Sincerely, Marcus Maes |
