California Spray Foam Contracting Company Completes 22,000 Square-Foot Project for Notable Sports Club |

In the last 25 years, The Millennium SportsClub has earned a reputation as one of Northern California's most notable athletic clubs. To maintain their reputation as a one-of-a-kind company to enhance the fitness and health of its customers, Millennium began developing a number of projects to better improve its facilities, including projects to prevent roof leakage. At first, Millennium was skeptical about using spray foam insulation as a material to prevent roof leakage, but opted to experiment with the foam. Millennium hired Thermal Roof Systems to experiment with spray foam insulation to see if the material would be the best product in preventing roof leakage. "We were assigned to apply spray polyurethane foam on a 3,400-square-foot roof over a basketball court in Vacaville, Calif.," said Tom Schaal, vice president of sales and marketing for Thermal Roof Systems. "The company hired us to demonstrate the benefits of spray foam insulation as a test." The Thermal Roof Systems team applied one inch of closed-cell spray foam onto the roof of the basketball court. Following the test trial, the foam proved not only to prevent roof leakage, but according to the club's basketball players, noticeably improved conditions inside the court. "Millennium was so happy with the work we did that they assigned us to re-roof their entire Merced facility," Schaal said. Thermal Roof Systems sent a seven-man crew to apply one inch of closed-cell foam onto the 22,000-square-foot roof. "We were able to fix the leakage problem the roof was plagued with," Schaal said. "Like the basketball court in Vacaville, roof leakage no longer became a problem, and conditions inside the facility were greatly improved." Schaal expressed his excitement in working with the company in the future. "We anticipate working on the remainder of the Vacaville club, as well as the entire Vallejo club," Schaal said. "We look forward to making their clubs much more comfortable while decreasing their utility bills and increasing comfort for their members." |
