Breath Group=Pause ( 끊어 읽기, 休止)
When the wind blows|the waves run high.
Frankly,|I'm disappointed in you.
1. 관사 + 명사 : a girl, the book 2. 형용사 + 명사 : a beautiful flower
3. 조동사 + 본동사 : He will go there. 4. 전치사 + (대)명사 : about that
5. 부사 + 형용사 : Thank you very much. 6. 대명사(주어) + 동사 : He lives in Seoul.
That, John,|is the question. "Yes, sir,|I know it." This letter, I think,|is for you.
"Mr. Kim," said the boy,|"he is a boy."
Come here, Mary,|and take this.
He may, however,|come later.(더 일반적임)
He may,|however,|come later. He, however,|didn't come. He,|however,|didn't come.
Commas,|therefore,|should not be used without reason.
New York,|as everybody knows,|is a large city. He is,|to tell the truth,|afraid of the cat.
One of them said,|"Let's play ball." My brother said,|"I like it best."
They said, "Yes"|and went away. There was a cry,|"My dog."
① John went|home. John went home.
② He declares|that he likes|Mary. He declares|that he likes Mary.
③ I don't think|he|can succeed in his job. I don't think|he can succeed in his job.
To err is human, to forgive|(is) divine. Homer was the greater genius; Virgil|(was) the better artist.
He went there to speak; others|to listen.
(and but for because ...)
I shall go|if it is fine. He said|that his father was not at home.
Not onlythe teacher|but also students|wish for a holiday.
