To help you set your lineup for the fantasy game, Fantasy NBA: The Rookies, every week we'll provide each player's "PRA" (sum total of points, rebounds and assists per game), as well as his upcoming games for the week. Here's how the rookies were ranked after week two:
Rookie Gallery (Nov. 8-15)
After meeting Kobe, Dwight Howard grabbed 15 boards in a win over the Lakers. (Fernando Medina NBAE/Getty Images)
Nocioni's defense and hustle have earned him minutes in Scott Skiles' system. (Ron Hoskins NBAE/Getty Images)
Ariza has arrived in New York. (Nathaniel S. Butler NBAE/Getty Images)
Stats: 18.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 2.3 APG (27.8 PRA) Upcoming: at Sac. (11/16), at G.S. (11/17), at Den. (11/19), at Lakers (11/21) Breakdown: While Deng is putting up Sixth Man of the Year numbers, his minutes have gone down in each of the Bulls' four games. Plus, starting the season 0-4 doesn't really lend itself to lineup consistency. But the Duke rookie has still been very impressive so far.
Stats: 7.9 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 1.3 APG (20.9 PRA) Upcoming: vs. Utah (11/17), at Ind. (11/20) Breakdown: This 18-year-old rookie has yet to grab fewer than 10 rebounds in a game. With averages of 11.7 rebounds and 2.00 blocks per game, Howard's playing like a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
Stats: 9.0 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 1.4 APG (21.0 PRA) Upcoming: vs. Utah (11/16), vs. Cle. (11/18), at Cle. (11/20), at Det. (11/21) Breakdown: Okafor sprained his ankle in Charlotte's loss to Golden State, but told The Charlotte Observer it was a "minor tweak" and expects to play Tuesday against Utah.
Stats: 9.3 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 2.1 APG (17.0 PRA) Upcoming: vs. Sea. (11/16), vs. S.A. (11/18), at Mia. (11/21) Breakdown: Iguodala has played very well over Philly's current three-game winning streak, averaging 8.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 32.0 minutes per game over that stretch. Expect more of the same over the coming weeks.
Stats: 11.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 2.0 APG (22.1 PRA) Upcoming: at Sac. (11/16), at G.S. (11/17), at Den. (11/19), at Lakers (11/21) Breakdown: While Nocioni might not live up to the nightly double-double promise he displayed in his first two games, expect the Argentinian forward to settle in at around 10 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Stats: 8.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 2.2 APG (15.4 PRA) Upcoming: at S.A. (11/16), at Hou. (11/18), at Dal. (11/19), vs. Cle. (11/21) Breakdown: Ariza's rapid development made veteran Shandon Anderson expendable in New York. While the athletic rookie out of UCLA probably won't play more than 20-25 minutes per game, his role with the Knicks is pretty clearly defined: provide a spark off the bench.
Stats: 3.0 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 5.8 APG (10.3 PRA) Upcoming: at Sac. (11/16), at G.S. (11/17), at Den. (11/19), at Lakers (11/21) Breakdown: Suddenly, the unheralded rookie out of Duke is pushing Gordon for minutes. His heady playmaking (he has a 4.8-to-1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio) makes him a plus off the pine. Now if he can just find his 3-point range ...
Stats: 9.0 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 0.8 APG (11.8 PRA) Upcoming: at Sac. (11/16), at G.S. (11/17), at Den. (11/19), at Lakers (11/21) Breakdown: Gordon was removed from the starting lineup in Chicago's 97-96 loss to the Clippers, which might help take some of the pressure off him. Presently, the UConn guard is struggling to find his jumper; he's shooting just .302 from the field through four games.
Stats: 4.3 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 2.7 APG (9.3 PRA) Upcoming: vs. Tor. (11/16), at Lakers (11/17), vs. Hou. (11/20), vs. Pho. (11/21) Breakdown: Livingston has played well so far this season, but he's received competition from an unlikely source; rookie guard Quinton Ross out of SMU.
Stats: 5.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 0.0 APG (8.8 PRA) Upcoming: at Was. (11/17), vs. S.A. (11/19), vs. Sea. (11/21) Breakdown: Jefferson has been eating into Walter McCarty's minutes off the Celtics bench and is showing great efficiency in the frontcourt. The Celtics have won three straight, and Jefferson's averaging 6.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.00 blocks over that stretch.
