The Bible always challenges us about what we will choose. Whether it's the likeness in Esau, the faith of Jacob, the faith of Isaac, or living in the likeness of Ishmael. It demands a choice regarding whether we will live in the manner of the apostles or remain in the crowd. We are continually questioned through the Gospel.
Intellectually, we understand well that we should emulate the faith of the Gentile woman. However, upon closer inspection, we realize that there are things we must discard and choose. The reason she could kneel before Jesus once again and seek grace without caring what others think is because of the earnest and sincere faith in Jesus.
That faith is also necessary for us - the belief that only Jesus can solve my problems.
