앨범 소개말 Sang Hee Kim(original name:Soon Kang Choi) was born in Seoul, in March 1943, as the first daughter of a businessman. Her girl- hood was, in most respects, pleasant, lively and active. When she was in a Seoul girl's high school, she was so popular with fellow students for her lively and active sharacter that she was elected the president of Student Body In 1961, she entered College of Law, Korea University.
Some people thus say that she would make an admirable jurist or a judge of herself, if she had not set her foot in the world of music. But she began to take interest in the popular music and applied for the open contest for amateur singer which was held under the auspice of Radio K.B.S(Korean Broadcasting System) It was through this contest that she was introduced and attrancted to professional musicians and was acknowledged to be talented for a singer.
By the way, she was invited to become a regular singer of KBS. Graduated from the university in March, 1965, she began to sing in real earnest. It was these days that her early songs such as "First Date" "A Day Like Today" were at last acclaimed by music fans throughout Korea, marking the new era of her brilliant life as a prospective singer Since then, she has sung many beautiful songs including "Kyungsangdo Boy" "Bald Headed Boy" "Single-suited Gentleman" and "Ulsan Girl" whic have been loved by many people, both young and old throughout the country.
During the Last three consecutive years, she was elected one of the "Ten Great Singers" and one of the "Seven Top Singers" in the popuplarity poll sponsored by Radio K.B.S and T.B.C-T.V respectively And in 1969, she won the "Great Singer Prize of Seoul" from Seoul Simmun(daily newspaper) and the "Best Female Singer Prize" from Jung-ang Ilbo(daily newspaper) Now , at her age of twenty-five, she has achieved great success and has come to fame in Korea.
She has appeared on countless popsong festivals, nationwide television shows and stage performances. She has been a regular star singer of "Walker Hill Show" the largest and most famous entertainer group, and also has been an appointed guest singer of "Galaxy Room" of Chosun Hotel. Not merely as a singer but also as a talented MC, she has led her own T.V and radio programs for years singing beautiful songs with her refined and dynamic gestures and enchanted audience all the time with her attractive voice "Kim Sang Hee Show" of MBC-TV, "Golden Stage" of TBC-TV and "Kim Sang Hee Hour" of KBS-TV are such programs that have made a hit last three years.
And, "Yes, I am Kim Sang Hee" a CBS radio program in which she very skillfully mixes songs and gossips, is considered another success of her talent In June 1970, she had the opportunity to stand on the stage of "Arirang Festival" at Tokyo Hilton in celebration of Expo '70. In September, she was invited to Hong Kong, where she sang on the stage of Hilton Hotel as a special guest singer for a month.
The performance in Hong Kong won a great applause of Hong Kong music fans Recently she made another trip to Japan to perform with Mr. Hino Darumasa who is the most famous jazz musician in Japan touring six largest cities including Tokyo, achieving a great success as a popular singer at home and abroad Approaching to the pinnacle of success, as a singer she has a rich repertory; from cheerful love songs to blue elegies, from traditional Korean popular songs to modern American popsongs.
Among numerous foreign songs she has so far sung "I'll never fall in love again" "Sunny", " Going out of my head", "Yesterday" and "Hello Dally" which have been applauded, and lately, "Raindrops Keep falling on my head" are very popular among young fans in Korea
