Shiba Inu
Calling a small Japanese dog a Shiba Inu is now known to all dog lovers, but in fact I was the first to keep this Shiba Inu in the city and spread the name of the Shiba Inu. However, there are various theories about the name, and it is still unclear. It is said that it is because it skillfully passes through the shiba yabu, because the coat color is reddish brown and resembles the color of the shiba, and because the smaller ones are called shiba like shibaguri.
When I was looking for this Shiba Inu somewhere, the owner of the butcher who went in and out had a wild boar and deer hunter in the mountains of Ueno Village, upstream of the Kanna River in Gunma Tano District, near his hometown. He told me that he has an old dog with a raised tail.
The Inoka hunting famous dog survey report that I had when hunting the Tokugawa Shogunate in the Edo period also found that there are many good dogs in this region, so I definitely want to go to the survey, Showa. In the fall of the third year, Mr. Asami, a town called Fujioka near the entrance of this Kamiryu River, was informed that he had excavated a dog haniwa from a nearby tumulus, so I went out to investigate this Japan's first dog haniwa. ..
That night, at a roundtable discussion with a dog lover in the same region, an old man named Kiroku was in the village of Ueno Village in the upper reaches of the Kamiryu River, which is located under the Toshiki Pass on the prefectural border of Nagano, Gunma, 80 km southwest of Fujioka. When I talked about a hunter who has a famous dog for hunting deer and many hunters in the nearby village, Tokuto Hara, a doctor who loves Japanese dogs, offered to accompany me to the exploration.
Go deep into the mountains looking for a Shiba Inu
From Fujioka, drive to Onishi-cho, then climb the Toishi Kaido along the Kanna River, pass through Manba-cho, drop off the car at Shinba, and then rent a bicycle from the village for about 12 kilometers, and ride a bicycle in the Sakashita village. After that, I climbed up the river for 10 kilometers, and finally arrived at the Nakazawa village, where I asked the old man Kiroku and stayed overnight.
The old man's dog is a brown, standing-eared, shiba inu with a large inverted V-shaped wound on his right shoulder. When a hunter in the same village rented this dog and went to Mt. Mikuni in Ura to hunt wild boars, he was unfortunately hung on his fangs and suffered a serious injury that caused his internal organs to come out. The hunter pointed his gun at him and said, "I'm sorry," because it was a very unhelpful wound, and I felt sorry for suffering for a long time. When it was bad to kill another person's dog while breathing, Kiroku sewed his wounds on his back and went down the mountain. It is said that it has become.
This was a recollection of the fireside of a borrower hunter who often came to visit us. All the hunters around here use Mikuniyama, the first forest area in the Kanto region, as a hunting ground, which spans Saitama, Yamanashi, Gunma, and Nagano.
Get the Shiba Inu "Toshiishi"
After investigating all the nearby villages, Iiyama hunter's dog, a 7-year-old male from Kurokawa Village, was taken to the hunter to Sakashita after receiving the best Shiba Inu with a shoulder height of 41 cm, brown color, and a winding tail. I was able to put it in an empty beer box, put it on the bicycle carrier, go out to Shinba, then get on the car, stay overnight at Uoo, and return to Fujioka. When I stayed at Dr. Hara's house and took him out for a pulling exercise the next morning, he was bitten by a dog in the neighborhood and suffered a wound of about 8 cm on his left flank. I was impressed by the guts that clenched his teeth and endured the pain without making a voice, and that he was a dog that had been hit hard.
According to Iiyama hunter, when he was a child, he received this dog at Azusayama, Kawakami-mura, Minamisaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture, on the west side of Mt. Mikuni, and brought it over the mountain. I named it "Jikkoku" after the Jikkoku Pass above the Kurokawa village, and I grew up until I died of illness at the age of 10 in August 1945. Once upon a time, a good prefectural governorRyo NichigokuRyoni SensekiAnd so on. This means a good governor who is suitable for giving a salary of 2,000 stones of rice, but this ten stones was also named with the meaning of a famous dog worthy of ten stones of rice.
When I arrived at my house in Tokyo, the Akita dog from the front dared to head for Dewa, which has many times the body, but Dewa was my favorite and I didn't deal with it, so these two Japanese dogs soon became friends. Like Dewa, Toshiki never sold fights to free-range dogs in the town, but when he was headed to his opponent, no matter how powerful and big he was, he headed until he escaped. It was a dog to go. Even if it was suppressed, bitten, and swung around, it was a dog that bounced back and headed. With ten stones, no matter how big a dog, it might have looked smaller than a wild boar.
