[어학연수/유학후이민]NEW to QIBT Associate Degree
Dear Partner,
QIBT is pleased to announce that it will offer the Associate Degree in Commerce and Business from Feb 2010 (semester 1). Detailed information on the Associate degree can be found at: http://www.qibt.qld.edu.au/index.php/programs/associatedegree.html
Key points relating to the Associate Degree:
· It is a 2 year program which is equivalent to 1st and 2nd year of the relevant Griffith University Bachelor degree;
· Associate Degree graduates articulate to Griffith for their final year of study to gain their Bachelor degree;
· The QIBT Diploma of Commerce and Diploma of Hotel Management programs are equivalent to 1st year of the Associate Degree;
· QIBT Diploma of Commerce and Diploma of Hotel Management graduates can enter the Associate Degree in 2nd year.
The Associate Degree in Commerce and Business has been established primarily to assist Diploma of Commerce and Diploma of Hotel Management graduates with Grade Point Averages (GPA’s) below 4.5. Griffith University and QIBT believe these graduates would benefit from a further year of study at QIBT.
ALL CURRENT QIBT STUDENTS OR THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE AN OFFER:
QIBT will be soon be making Associate Degree offers to all your current students at QIBT, studying a Diploma of Commerce or Hotel Management, whose GPA is marginal or below 4.5.
This will be optional. However, we recommend that you discuss this with your students and they seriously consider this option. We believe the Associate Degree will provide your students with a greater opportunity for success and to achieve their ultimate goal of a Bachelor degree at Griffith University.
All offers made prior to Jan 11th will not have a GPA condition of 4.5. These students can still progress to Griffith second year regardless of GPA (as has always been the case). However, we strongly recommend you talk with your students and encourage those students with GPA’s lower then 4.5, to consider the Associate degree. QIBT will deliver the Associate degree with all the support services offered at Diploma level, such as small classes, extra teaching hours, LDP, PAL, mentor programs, lecturer consultations etc – these services will continue to be of benefit all QIBT students.
Please see the information below relating to Commission.
OFFERS MADE AFTER JANUARY 11, 2010:
From Jan 11th 2010, all new offers for the Diploma of Commerce and Diploma of Hotel Management will have a GPA hurdle of 4.5, as a condition on their offer. This means students will need to reach a GPA of 4.5 in these two Diploma programs to enter the second year for the relevant Griffith University degree. Students who achieve a GPA of less than 4.5, will enter the second year of the Associate Degree and progress to the third year of the related Griffith University Bachelor degree.
Students who complete the Associate Degree, will gain direct entry into the third year of Griffith University, upon achieving a GPA of 4..5.
First Year Entry:
QIBT will continue to make packaged offers for the Diploma of Commerce and Diploma of Hotel Management into the relevant Griffith University Bachelor degree, in the majority of cases.
These packaged offers will now have a GPA condition of 4.5 to enter the second year of Griffith University. Under special circumstances and only when specifically requested, QIBT will consider making a packaged offer, directly into the 1st year of the Associate Degree, combined with Griffith Bachelor degree. Students completing the Associate Degree in two years will be required to achieve a GPA of 4.5 to progress to the third year of the Bachelor degree at Griffith University.
Second Year entry:
There will be two categories of students who will be eligible to enter the QIBT Associate Degree at year two, and complete the program in 2-3 semesters (8-12 months). These categories will be:
Category A)
Students who complete the QIBT Diploma of Commerce or Diploma of Hotel Management, and have a GPA with less than 4.5.
Category B)
Students who enter the Associate Degree with advanced standing or credit from a program offered by an alternate provider (not QIBT). Examples might include a Diploma offered by another provider or the first year of a University degree, by an institution in Australia or overseas.
Commission:
Commission of 5% will be paid to all Second year entry students, category A.
Commission of 10% will be paid to all second year entry students, category B.
Commission of 12.5% will be paid for all first year entry student (the same as any QIBT Diploma). 5% trailing commission will be paid by QIBT in the second year of the Associate Degree.
