space exploration, spacecraft, launch, docking, solar system, space shuttle, hubble telescope, ISS(International Space Station), satellite, planet, orbit, unmanned, crew, atmosphere, suborbital flight, techonology, space swimming, space fragment, space junk, electron valve, Mirr, Soyuz, Junjoy, Tian Gung.

<Gravity>
(1) Film
- showed on October 17th, 2013
- directed by Alfonso Cuaron
- acted by Sandra Bullock, Georgy Clooney
(2) Subject :
- the meaning of life and courage caught by a female space engineer to have survived through a space disaster
- the space reality as a fear and disaster showed through an disaster accident to happen at the space shuttle
(3) the Space Exploration
① The history of the space exploration
- In 1958, the first unmanned spacecraft, 'Pioneer 1', was launched.
- In 1961, Soviet Union Yuri Gagarin succeeded the first space flight with 'Bostock 1' in human history.
- In 1963, the USA President, Lyndon B. Johnson said, "I dont' want to get asleep in the moonlight occupied by the Communists."
- In 1969, Neil Armstrong's 'Apolo 11' succeeded to land on the moon.
- In 1975, USA and US carried the first untied space task with docking for 44 hours.
- In 1977, 'Boyger 1'(Sep.5) and Boyger 2(Aug. 20), the first spacecrafts designed to fly out of the solar system, was launched. They carried a golden recode and were attached by the two digital cameras. In that time, the planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune supposed to be aligned , so it was presumed to journey the planets at a shortcut. They sent the image of the volcano erupting which happened at the satellite of the Jupiter.
- In 1978, the first GPS tested satellite, 'Navesta 1' was launched into the highly elliptical orbit.
- In 1981, the first space shuttle, 'Colombia' was launched in Florida air force base in USA.
- In 1980s, it was the era of space exploring. Space shuttles were launched with the military missions.
- In 1986, the space shuttle, 'Challenge', was launched and exploded in air 73 seconds after being launched.
- In 1990, the Hubble telescope was launched with being carried on the spacecraft, 'Discovery'.
- In 1992, Daniel Brandenstain, the captain of the space shuttle, said in the interview with the New York Times, "The powerful space developing program is needed to inspire the challenge and hope to the youths."
- In 1997, the unmanned Mars Probe 'Pass Finder' with airback landed safely on the surface of Mars.
- In 2000, the first crew was boarded at the International Space Station.
- In 2003, the space shuttle, Colombia, was exploded on its way to enter the atmosphere after finishing its task. Seven crews died. (In 2011, the project of the space shuttle was repealed.)
- In 2004, the Spaceship of Virgin Galetic was the first private spacecraft to succeed a Suborbital flight.
② Space science words in the movie, 'Gravity'
- ISS : International Space Station. At present, ISS is the only thing, which 135 nations containing USA and Rusia cooporated to build.
- Tian Gung(天宮), Experimental ISS of China, is scheduled to run actually in 2020.
- Soyuz is a Russian Space Shuttle.
- Sunjou(神舟) is a Chinese Space Shuttle transferred technology from Russian Soyuz.
- MMU is Manned Maneuvering Unit to help space swimming.
- George Clooney's Back Pack, Safer, was improved to supplement the defect of too-much-fuel-using. (It is impossible to move only with the safer from Hubble to ISS because the orbits of the two are very different and the distance is too far.)
③ Space Junk
- There are more than 1100 satellites on working and 9000 space fragments around the earth.
- There are the possibilities for the spacecraft fragments to crash or attack on the satellites or spacecrafts.
- In 2007, the fragments of Chinese Satellite flied approaching to 2km away from a Korean Satellite.
- The amount of space junk counts up to 6000 ton.
- The junk heaps turns around the earth at a great speed.
- A ten-centimeter-piece of junk can shatter one satellite.
- ISS has suffered from that kind of threat no less than 10 times.
- The Space Challenge and the electron valve of the ISS Mirr of Rusia, the first ISS, were smashed by a piece of fragment. (In 2000, the Mirr was scrapped.)
