○ Using Stray Dogs to Receive Donations and Grants, then Killing Them.
Abandoned dogs are killed in the name of euthanasia after 10 to 20 days of protection. Legally, the veterinarian has to euthanize them, but there is a representative of an animal group who was sentenced to in prison for killing them by himself in order to save money.
There were 95,261 abandoned dogs in 2020, of which 20.8% died of euthanasia and 25.1% died of natural causes, and an operating cost of 19.5 billion won was spent. 25.1% of natural causes occurs because abandoned dog shelters are unsanitary.
They receive tax support for rescuing abandoned dogs and kill half of them while collecting donations. The carcass resulting from this incurs waste disposal costs.
Nothing is as painful, barbaric, and inhumane as abandoning a dog and starving it to death. It is environmentally friendly, and helpful for food secure, and humane to slaughter with the elimination of pain and to eat dog meat more quickly than to abandon them.
Annually 338.2 billion won is spent with the leaking of foreign currency by buying the imports of pet dogs feed.
It costs about 548 won (53 U.S. dollars) per day to maintain edible dogs, with about 30 kilograms raised a year, and they earn about 200,000 won (269 dollars). While abandoned dogs are protected for only 20 days by receiving 200,000 won (269 dollars), an abandoned dog shelter use only 10,960 won (548 won by 20 days) per day on the basis of edible dog, so they have 190,000 won left. Nevertheless they raise donations, saying that it is not enough.
According to the 2121 National Consciousness Survey on Animal Protection by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Education and Culture Information Service), an abandoned dog is sold by an average of 315,000 won per one by private animal shelters.
○ One Abandoned Dog is Manipulated into Several Dogs, and the Subsidies are Duplicated.
Animal groups try to be designated as shelters for abandoned dogs to receive subsidies. The reason for it is that 200,000 won (179 U.S. dollars) is supported for per abandoned dog. As a result, there have been cases which an abandoned dog was turned into several dogs, with the reception of double subsidies.
The way is to turn stray dogs from one shelter to another and from that shelter to this shelter, making one dog more like several ones.
There is a shelter in Guri-si and Namyangju-si that made duplicate documents with one dog to receive double subsidies. and they were caught to compensate for the subsidies.
Animal groups are trying to rob edible dogs because the more abandoned dogs there are, the more subsidies and donations they can receive.
○ The Income of Donations from Animal Groups
As there are too many dogs, about 90,000 dogs are thrown away a year, and even though they are not endangered animals, animal groups are complaining only about dogs. Owing to this cause, they increase the number of members to receive donations. The reason for it is that endangered animals cannot make money because of their not receiving media and public attention.
According to the official web-site data, Kara's total income in 2022 is about 6.2 billion won, of which 91.79% is donations. As for the expenditure, the labor cost for business is about 1.8 billion won (36.53%).
Korean Animal Welfare Associate's total income in 2022 is about 8.3 billion won, of which 8 billion won (96.3%) was donated, 4.6 billion won (55.6%) was spent on the projection performance, and 1.9 billion won (23.4%) was used to build buildings.
Care's 2022 income is about 1.9 billion won in donations, and its expenditure is about 32.75 million won (1.72%) in labor costs, and 1.5 billion won (80.7%) in relief projects.
Among them, labor cost included in the project is unknown. According to the Donation Act, only 15 percent or less should be used for management, and more than 85 percent should be used for animal protection, but they are constructing buildings with the reception of donations.
By simple calculation, since Kara has an income of 6.2 billion won and rescues 301 animals, it costs 20 million won to rescue one animal each. While The Animal Freedom Alliance had an income of 8.3 billion won, it rescued 194 animals. Therefore it cost 42.8 million won to rescue one animal each.
With the spread of recognition of making money from dog meat, about 400 animal groups were formed in droves. They attacked the weak and elderly dog farms to raise donations by directing rescue scenes.
○ Increasing the Number of Pet Dogs by Falsehood
Politicians sided with animal groups to create an end to dog eating law, saying, "The era of 10 million pets (19.3% of the people)."
On the basis of Statistics Korea's "Demographics" and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' "Other Livestock Statistics," the population of pet dogs from 1,244,785 pets in 2019 was calculated as 1,872,100, accounting for only 3.61% of the people. The data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs are almost the same, with 2,092,000 registered in 2019.
According to the 2021 "National Consciousness Survey on Animal Protection" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Education and Culture Information Service), it is said that there are an estimated 6,012,666 pet dogs in 2020, 2,321,702 registered dogs, and that in 2021 there are an estimated 5,178,614 and the registered 2,820,000 dogs in 2021.
As there are 1.19 animals per household, 5,178,614/1.19 = 4,351,178 households are counted in 2021 on the basis of estimation. In spite of that, as there are 2.482 people per household, the dogs are calculated to be raised by 10,801,109 people (20.8% of the people). And on the basis of registration, they are calculated to be raised by 5,881,714 people (11.3% of the people).
The estimate is unreliable data that cannot be recognized as statistics, but the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Education and Culture Information Service) makes and distributes data called "10 million pet dogs (19.3% of the people)" and animal groups claim that dog meat consumption should be ended as the era of "10 million pet population," using such data.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is implementing a policy to exterminate livestock farmers of edible dogs with such puffed number, and to support non-farmers in order to let them attack farmers.
The National Assembly was misled by the era of 10 million pet dogs (19.3% of the people) and it enacted a dog meat eating ban.
But the 10 million people account for just one-fifth of the population. It is against democracy to make a law banning dog for these minorities. A democracy should not end dog meat by listening to the will of the remaining 40 million people.
