Meet Haru, who has the most gorgeous eyes!
Haru was born in the shelter and had lived in there most of his life. He has been living in his first fostering home for about 3 months.
His mom and sibling, Moru and Goru respectively, all have been adopted already, but Haru still hasn’t found his forever family yet.
Haru is a bit shy and timid 10 month old cute doggy, but he can be very playful and show you a love you may not expect once he gets used to you!
Haru can be a perfect fit for a family who would like a dog who isn’t very active.
Haru hasn’t been anywhere else besides the shelter and his current foster home. We are looking for a family who would love to show him a more beautiful world and give him a life full of love.
🧡Name: Haru
🌷Age: 10 months
🌷Sex: Male (Neutered)
🌷Weight: 10kg
🌷Breed: Mutt
🍀When his foster parents first met Haru:
-He was so scared of everything that he wouldn’t come out of his kennel or eat or drink at all.
-He hid in the back of his kennel when I tried to touch him.
-It has been about 3 months since I fostered Haru, and now I can tell he’s more comfortable.
🍀Sociability with People:
-He can be very shy with strangers but once he has known you for a long time, he can be very playful.
🍀Reaction to Children:
-Hasn’t met any yet.
🍀Fear of people based on gender:
-Haru is generally scared of everyone.
*We assume it’s just because he’s not used to be around people that he lived in the shelter for a long time.*
🍀Reaction to other Dogs:
-He normally just stares at them or sniffs them.
-Haru would do nothing even if other dogs bark around him.
🍀Reaction to Cats:
-Hasn’t met any yet.
🍀Barking Habit:
-He barks 3-4 times when he hears the sound of a door lock.
-He doesn’t react to doorbell and doesn’t bark without reason.
🍀Aggression/Biting Issue:
-He never bites people.
-Haru is the same as those who may not be happy when you are forced to do things you don’t like. He growls a bit when I try to put clothes on him or give him medicine, but even then he doesn’t bite.
🍀Eating Habit:
-Haru is generally not a huge fan of food.
-He drinks water a lot, and his favorite snack is cheese crackers.
🍀How does he react when you are around him while he’s eating or when you steal his food or his toy? Is he aggressive or does he growl at other dogs?
-He’s not aggressive at all. He runs away immediately when there’s sudden sounds while he’s eating.
🍀Coprophagia (eating feces):
-None.
🍀Sleeping Preference:
-In the beginning, he sleeps inside of his kennel but now he wants to sleep next to me.
🍀Crate training:
-None, however he’s okay being in kennel.
🍀Potty-training:
-We’ve never trained him but he already has no problem with using a pee-pad in the beginning.
-He hits the pee-pad around 80% of the time, so he occasionally makes mistakes on the floor or bed.
🍀Marking:
-None.
🍀Playing with Toys:
-Haru’s can be scared of toys, he especially doesn’t like to be around toys that make sounds.
-We have never done any tug play.
🍀Separation Anxiety:
-None
-He walks around the house when I leave home to go to work and then sleeps on the bed.
🍀Walking outside:
-He’s still scared of being outside (after living in the shelter for so long).
-His leash would wrap around my body as he tried to stay close to me.
🍀Does he recognize his name: Does he come to you when you call him outside?
-I can’t be positive, but he does seem to recognize his name in the house.
🍀Understood commands:
-None
🍀Health Issues/Required Treatments:
-Haru had a bad skin condition when he first got here.
-He scratched a lot, but after taking him to the hospital for a month he is so much better now.
🍀Car-training:
-It was his first and last time being in the car when he got here from the shelter but he seemed fine with no motion sickness.
🍀Things of note for interested Families:
-I think it can be due to some kind of past trauma, though his dogsonality naturally seems to be rather shy and scared.
-Haru can freak out at any sudden sounds.
-It would be wonderful for Haru to find a pawever family who could be very patient with him.
