Today was marvelous. Since last week, mom and I had planned to go to a movie today. Even though the cinema around my place costs away less money, today, we decided to forget about the price and went to the Metrotown which is an alloy of so many shops, most of which sell clothing.
I really go crazy about shopping. Even if I don’t have enough money to buy a single T-shirt, that can never take the joy of shopping away from me. It is just impossible. Of course it would be much better, if I have enough pocket money, but sometimes I enjoy eye shopping more than the ‘shopping’ because even if I have some money in my pocket, it must be limited, so that makes me only limited choices which give me a hard time. Haha. I just enjoy looking around the shops and trying putting on clothes. I think this is in my blood.
Well, but if it think about my mom, I begin to doubt that theory a little bit. My mom is totally the opposite. Well, not really the opposite, but away different from me. Actually, many people say we look really similar not in terms of the literal ‘look,’ but in terms of the impression we give others. Certainly, that is true. Both of us already know that. But the thing is we have totally different personalities.
My mom is a strong believer of the cliché that the rules exist for people to comply with; I don’t necessarily believe that they are for people to break them, but I’m not such a person who abides extremely strictly by the rules. For example, when it comes to the school dress code, I never ever tuck my shirt in. And for my mom, that is unacceptable and not understandable. So when I informed her of one( bless me, I got only one!) detention I got because I got caught with my shirt untucked, I could she her eyes twice wider than usual looking at me with the unspoken words that said ‘I’m awe-struck.’
To explain why we are so different, there must be a long story, so I’ll just get over that topic. So anyway, we are very different in our shopping style. Basically my mom is not really fond of that activity. She has this idea that if she doesn’t have any money to buy anything, she’d rather not. And she gets tired so easily that if we go shopping together at the end of it(prolly after less than 2 hours usually), I’m still hyper and hard to control myself because by that time, I’ve only finished the warm up, and my mom is just totally exhausted. So it has been known to me that it is really hard to go shopping and really do shopping when I go with my mom.
But today was different. After watching Harry Potter(really lousy, this time.) 3, I think we hung around more than three hours even though I had to keep my mouth busy so that my mom couldn’t say, ‘ok, Janet, it’s enough. Let’s go home.’
Canada really has great clothes. Some people say that Korea is fashionable and carries fancy clothes. Well, but the problem is many of those clothes which are possible to be found at Miliore or something, are pretty expensive. And if you go and find cheap clothes, not many of them are fancy. But in Canada, because in the North American culture almost all girls wear sexy clothes no matter how fat they are blah blah blah, all clothes are pretty ok. Especially collar designs really attract me: personally, I’m a strong believer of the most important thing for tops is collar design and how tight it is around the waist.
We had really great fun. And I’m starting my diet so that I can try on any clothes I want next time I go shopping.
