Conestoga College has once again received funding for the Women in Skilled Trades General Carpentry Program from the Province of Ontario.
The Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) program will provide opportunity to 25 participants, starting in September at Waterloo Campus. The program features 28 weeks of in-college instruction, plus ten weeks of practical, on-the job training. Those who successfully complete the program are ready to pursue employment, apprenticeships or advanced training. This is the ninth consecutive year Conestoga has offered WIST training.
The WIST program is tuition-free to qualifying students, thanks to the funding. Those interested in WIST Carpentry can attend a free information session to learn more about the program, you do not need to register in advance.
Waterloo Campus: info sessions are approximately two (2) hours in length and will begin promptly at the times listed.
Free information sessions on:
- Wednesday, July 27th - 10:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, August 3rd - 10:00 a.m.
Information sessions will include a tour of the campus. Please ensure you have closed-toed shoes to enter the shops. Eye protection will be provided.
