Import Duty □ According to Indonesia Customs Tariff Book, HS Code heading 3917 is described as follows: □ Import Tariffs and Taxes of HS Code 3917  ○ Import duty tariff under the framework of ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Area (AKFTA) is lower than the import tariff entry that applies in general,. Those are imposed on imported goods which include the Certificate of Origin (Fonn AK) which have signed by the competent authorities in the countries concerned. In case the general import duty tariff is lower than in the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Area (AKFTA) as contained in the Appendix, the general tariffs rate is applied. 2. Competition Trend  ○ The market of pipe in Indonesia is growing each year, especially product of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The top four PVC pipe manufactures in Indonesia are Wavin Duta Jaya, Pralon, Maspion and Vinilon. All companies experienced when they did not ell their products to overseas markets in 2009 because of local need. According to the marketing manager of PT Wavin Duta Jaya, local high need of PVC pipe is due to pipeline leak data which from 10 million pipe water connection, currently there are 40 percent pipeline which need to be changed.  ○ One unique fact regarding PVC pipe. PT Wavin Duta Jaya, established since 1973, is the company who has the biggest market share. They able to get almost 50 percent Indonesia market share in Indonesia, and its largest contribution is from PVC Pipe. Wavin Duta Jaya. However, Indonesian people still tends to call PVC pipe as “paralon”, and it actually refers to a company brand, PT Pralon. PT. Pralon, or the brand “Pralon” has been widely recognized since 1963 as a pioneer in the uPVC pipes industries in Indonesia.  ○ Actually, there are lots of PVC manufactures in Indonesia under various brands such as Aqualon, Asiavin, Intralon, Tirtalon, etc. However there are only four top companies, which are Wavin Duta Jaya, Pralon, Maspion and Vinilon. 4. Retail Price  ○ Actually not all companies in Indonesia publish the retail prices. It is also applies for distributor. Usually the end-users will phone the distributor and ask the price according to their project. Furthermore if the end-users want to have modified pipe, they contact directly to the local manufacture.  ○ Below is price list table of PVC Pipe from PT. Wavin Duta Jaya which has two brands, Wavin and Rucika, applied from January 8 2014. The price mentioned could be the base of other brand’s pipe since the company is well known as company that has good quality yet quite high price.  ○ However, the price mentioned above is directly from the manufacture, which is not the same as price given from distributor for end-users. Below are list from different brands as usually used by supplier or distributor in Indonesia: 5. Distribution Channel  ○ PVC Pipes are distributed through local importer and then go to supplier or local distributor then finally to end-users. It is also possible the importer is a supplier itself. It is quite rare when the end-users in Indonesia get its product directly from foreign manufacture, unless it is local manufacture. 6. Certification  ○ According to National Standardization Agency of Indonesia, PVC pipe for water pipeline should meet the Indonesia National Standard, SNI 06-0084-2002. The advantages for items that meet SNI are the item is trusted to meet ISO quality standards, strong, not easily broken, and does not leak, safe to use for potable water, installation is simple and fast and durable, resistant to chemicals, easy to transport due to light, inner surface smooth and shiny, and trusted made of pure PVC.  ○ Below are table of pipe dimension, which are included outer nominal of diameter dimensions, a wall thickness nominal and PVC pipe series.  ○ And below is maximum working pressure coefficient for water temperatures up to 45 ° Celsius
