Tell us about a part-time job you had while you were going to school
Hi guys~ I’m Teddy. What would you do if someone asks you “Tell me about a part-time job you had while you were going to school.” In fact, I’ve done it just once, before I entered the college. So, I’m going to tell you about what I went through at that time.
First, I’ve got a question. What do you think is the most effective way to make guests happy? I found out the good ways to make them satisfied, when I did a part-time job. All you have to do is keep smiling to as many guests as you can. Have them smile back at you and make sure that you put forward positive energy. The more you smile to people, the more people are satisfied with your service. It goes without saying that you have to be honest and genuine, and you need to show them you’re doing your best. Do you see what I’m going with this? Even though they were uncomfortable displeased with your service, after dinner, they won’t be bad mouthing you all over town. If anything, they feel bad for you guys.
For example, when I worked as a waiter at Chinese restaurant in Coex, Some of guests look tired and irritated. And they said “We’re very very hungry. Can you give us food as much as you can and as soon as possible?” They sound rude. They speak abruptly. But I didn’t express how I feel and I spoke sweetly keeping smiling. And I went asked the chef if we can give them more food” That’s how I showed them that I was trying to help them.
When they finished their meal, they said “Thank you for looking out for us. You have a good smile. I shouldn’t have done it. I’m so sorry.” Okay, do you see how important keeping smiling is? When you meet rude people, why don’t you keep smiling? Thanks.
