PAY RANGE: Between 17,578 and 25,221 Won per hour
TOUR OF DUTY: 40 hours per week
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current USFK KN employees located in Area IV, serviced by Civilian Human Resources Agency – Far East Region
NOTE: 1. Relocation allowance will not be authorized for the selectee from outside the commuting area. 2. This position has been designated as KN EMERGENCY-ESSENTIAL (MISSION ESSENTIAL). KN EE (ME) Position Agreement Form (USFK Form 200EK) must be signed prior to appointment of the selectee for this position. 3. As mandated by Executive Order 14043, USFK Korean employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty station or work arrangement (e.g., telework, long-term TDY, etc.), subject to exemptions as approved by proper authorities of the USFK. If selected, you will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit documentation of proof of vaccination by November 22, 2021 or before appointment, if after November 22 2021. Employees will be considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 two weeks after they have received the requisite number of dose(s) of a COVID-19 vaccine. Upon selection, CHRA-FE will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request of the hiring agency a required exemption from this requirement.
MAJOR DUTIES: Performs a variety of supply technical and clerical support work involved in receipt, storage, pack and ship of supply items of medical, surgical, dental, optical, laboratory equipment, and instruments in providing materiel support to all medical activities throughout Korea. Applies knowledge of a variety of computerized coding systems and the storage operations by the application of Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics Systems (TEWLS). Serve as a Supply Technician receiving, storing and packing medical materiel. Checks all incoming materiel for damage, tampering or other deficiencies and takes appropriate actions prior to placing materiel into location or further routing to customer. Determines the cause of short or misplaced materiel and initiates corrective action. Checks continuously expiration dates on the spill response substances and replace when expired or depleted. Compiles, packs, and marks item for shipment ensuring compliance with supporting documentation. Initially checks incoming shipments for completeness, correctness and proper condition. For standard items, verifies item identification data by reviewing computerized due-in files and medical catalogs. For commercial type shipments, researches identification documents and web pages to identify and annotate proper military identification codes. Receives and books all materiel into TEWLS. Initiates Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) for overages, shortages, incorrect materiel number, short dated or expired materiel, and materiel damaged in transportation. Determines proper unit of issue and arranges for repacking, as appropriate. Reviews pertinent labels to determine appropriate storage site and storage bin. Conducts re-consignment actions (cross docking) as necessary. Picks, sorts, packs, and marks items for shipment/issue ensuring compliance with supporting documentation. Receives and sorts by priority, request for issue of times (transfer orders/TO) and checks item identification codes in the computerized system for completeness and correctness in order to properly identify and pick items. Places special emphasis (quality control) on picking, sorting, and packing the correct stock number, with expiration data and quantity. Packs supplies and equipment, including items of a fragile and sensitive nature, in boxes, crates, cartons, or other containers for shipping or storage, which requires long periods of standing. Verifies, correct packing of materiel, including the MSDS paperwork. Transcribes specific data required for update of the computerized system. Processes priority and special handling requests immediately upon receipt. Determines correct storage area and ensures that items stored are replenished and protected against damage, deterioration and pilferage. Determines over, short or misplaced items and independently initiates corrective action. Conducts regular and special inventories, which requires long periods of walking, bending, stretching and reaching. Provides information/input to daily storage activity reports. Conducts re-warehousing, bin/storage unit, location surveys, re-stratification, empty bin checks, and warehouse maintenance/cleaning, which requires physical exertion to a certain degree. Operates electric, gasoline, or diesel powered forklift trucks in order to lift loads. The forklift is operated to load/unload, transfer, transport, stack/unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, merchandise, materiel, and supplies from one location to another. May drive forklift over wood, concrete, or similar type floors through narrow aisles in buildings, warehouse facilities, and occasionally outside over rough surfaces. Follows general safety practices in operating equipment and performs operator's maintenance on equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
a. EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience at grade level of KGS-4 or equivalent.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be credited, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level.
b. Applicants must possess Fork Lift Operator License and must successfully pass a USFK performance test for the type of equipment to be operated.
c. ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: 1. The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 60 is required. 2. The passing score of former English Language Proficiency Test (B series) may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. 3. The TOEFL score of 450 (or 133 on the computer-based test) or TOEIC score of 550 may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. Applicants must indicate the TOEFL/TOEIC score on the application (item #17) and submit official copies of test scores. TOEFL and TOEIC scores are valid for two years from the exam date. TOEFL scores must be provided to the CHRA-FER from the ETS.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Successfully completed education of four years above the high school level in a ROKG authorized or recognized college, university may be substituted for the experience required at grade KGS-5.
