1. Family Names
A Korean personal name consists of a family name(surname; Seong) and a two-part given name(first name; Ireum). The family name is placed in front of the first name.
The first part of a given name is shared by everyone of the same generation in the family. The second part of a given name is the individual's name.
In Korea, the given name follows a family name. While in an English speaking country, some Koreans keep the original order of their names, others reverse their names to match the North American style.
