물주구문: 무생물이 주어가 되는 것은 우리 말에는 드물지만 영어에는 흔하다. 이런 구문은 직역을 하지 않고 주어를 부사적으로 번역하는 것이 자연스럽다.
Business prevented me from attending the meeting. (용무가 있어서 나는 그 회의에 참석할 수 없었다) - Because of business, I couldn't attend the meeting.
What made you so angry ? (너는 왜 그렇게 화를 냈느냐 ?)

관계대명사의 제한 용법과 계속 용법: 제한 용법은 관계대명사 앞에 comma가 없고 뒤에서 앞으로 수식하며 계속 용법은 관계대명사 앞에 comma 가 나오고 해석은 앞에서 부터 뒤로 순서대로 하며 접속사 + 대명사로 바꿀수 있다.
