life without giving up
The opposite of 'success' is not 'failure' but 'giving up'. In other words, as long as it is a legitimate goal, it means that if you do not give up, you will surely succeed.
However, I am not talking about persevering without giving up recklessly, it is about persevering and working hard with faith. In the painting of ‘Rain (Rain) Gwang (Light),’ there is a person wearing a uniform and holding an umbrella. This person is also called “Michikaze” in Japanese “Onodofu”.
According to legend, while walking the path of a calligrapher, one day his heart reached its peak and he said, “I don’t know. I can't anymore. have to pick it up I write well, what are you doing?” I got up and went outside to get some fresh air. At that time, it was raining outside, and I walked for a long time with an umbrella in misery, and in the rain-swollen stream,
I saw a frog struggling to catch a willow that was hanging over to avoid being washed away. Unfortunately, the rain-soaked willow branches were slippery and too tall to catch, no matter how hard they tried. Seeing this frog, he snorted. 'You're like a foolish frog, you should try harder...' ’
But at that time, a strong wind suddenly blew and the willow branch swung in the direction of the frog, and the frog took advantage of this moment to grab hold of the willow branch and climbed up the willow tree with all its might. Observing that, “Onodofu” had a big realization.
'Oh~! It's not the frog that's foolish, it's me!' You mean?' British Prime Minister Churchill gave a congratulatory speech at the prestigious Oxford University graduation ceremony. He appeared at the ceremony dressed with dignity, smoking a pipe. And he slowly set down his hat and cigarette on the podium in an enthusiastic welcome.
Everyone in the audience held their breath and expected a great congratulatory speech from his mouth, and Churchill finally spoke. “Never give up!” He spoke his first words in a powerful voice. Then he slowly looked around the audience again. The audience waited for his next words and he continued.
“Never, never, never. never. never give up!” Churchill exclaimed again. Seven “nevergiveup”, that was all congratulations. The audience gave this speech a thunderous applause. In fact, this applause was more about his renunciation than his speech to the unknown life. Churchill was born prematurely, eight-legged, stuttered, and had a learning disability, and finished last in school. And because of his large physique and cheerful personality, he was mistaken for cocky and arrogant.
In his elementary school register, he was listed as a ‘hopeless child’. When he was in middle school, he got a failing grade in English and was suspended for three years. In the end, he couldn't get into Cambridge or Oxford, so he entered the Military Academy.
He failed and entered the military academy twice, and he failed in the first election to become a politician, and after working as a journalist, he tried again and was elected. Having led social reform during his 21-year parliamentary career in the Labor Party, he had more failures and defeats than achievements.
But as he said in his graduation speech, he overcame his speech impediment and never, never, never, never gave up and worked hard to become a Nobel Prize laureate, a world war hero, and a great politician. Churchill's greatest crisis came during World War II. Speaking before the British Parliament, the Prime Minister at the time said,
“I have nothing to give to the people except blood, dirt, tears and sweat.” We will fight on the oceans and we will fight on the shores. I will never surrender.” In this way, Churchill never gave up, turned the tide of war, and eventually became a hero by helping lead the war to victory. It's a brutal reality, but life is a constant struggle.
Life is a fight with oneself, a fight against limits, and a fight against constant challenges. ‘Whose victory is it? The answer is grim. It belongs to those who don't give up. who is the strongest? He is the one who doesn't give up.
Who is the ultimate winner? He is the one who doesn't give up. Who Laughs Ultimately? He is the one who doesn't give up. In whose sky does a rainbow float? He is the one who doesn't give up.
How about achieving a life where we don't know how to give up with the spirit of <Intelligence Yeobul> in Deokhwa Full Bloom!
