Hi! I hope everyone is having a good day. 😊
Just here to say that when we write them letters in Korean, please avoid 야 (ya) as an interjection or exclamation and as suffix to their names like 셔누야 (Shownu-ya). It's considered rude and disrespectful unless you are really close friends. It's also equivalent to 'Hey!' like you're shouting and about to pick a fight.
Use honorifics -씨 (shi) common equivalent of Mr.; -님 (nim) extra polite 씨 shi; -군 (goon) not common as 씨 shi but same meaning, used for younger and unmarried males; -오빠 (oppa) younger female to older male; -형 (hyung) younger male to older male.
Example: 셔누씨 (Shownu-shi/Mr. Shownu), 기현오빠 (Kihyun oppa)
P.S. I'm still in the process of self-learning Korean so I may also have wrong grammar but honorifics is the basic and incredibly important thing in learning Korean. 😊
첫댓글 Thank you! This was a great reminder. The members often use 씨 when giving interviews so I agree it’s only fair for Monbebe to show our politeness to members in fancafe too.
You're welcome. It is also in the fancafe rules that we address them properly. 😊
