3 When teenagers open their eyes in the morning/ to see their presents,/ they are instantly in a good mood./ Afterwards, they can have an exciting breakfast/ with their family./ Every member of the family celebrates/ the joy of the holiday,/ either *religiously or not,/ and chats with each other.
4 Christian families usually go to church/ to *commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ /in the afternoon./ During the church service,/ kids might participate in a *choir singing carols or/ a play retelling the story of Christ’s birth./ These activities can usually last for hours. 5 At church, youngsters meet up/ with their friends/ to chat/ about the presents they received/ for Christmas/ and how fun /their morning was.
6 Parents go to a service to pray and talk with other adults./ They pray/ for a peaceful and better new year,/ and they wish for their family’s good luck.
7 Non-Christian families often stay home/ and have a long, relaxing day on Christmas./ Children play and spend time/ with their fathers,/ who are usually not home very much.
8 Some families use/ the day/ to discuss new year *resolutions./ Each member/ *evaluates/ his or her performance in the soon-to-be-ending year./ They also talk/ about what they aim to accomplish in the following year/ -- such as better health, better grades/ or being more active in everyday situations./
9 Many families go out/ for a special dinner on Christmas Day./ Although some restaurants are closed,/ families want to celebrate by eating something nice.

Friday’s and Outback Steakhouse are/ some of the favorites among teens./ On Christmas Day,/ there are usually long lines for dining at such places./ So, making reservations at restaurants/ may be a smart idea/ for any family planning on eating out to celebrate./
