[착한 사마리아인]

1 "You are children of the LORD, your God. You shall not gash yourselves nor shave the hair above your foreheads for the dead. 2 For you are a people sacred to the LORD, your God, who has chosen you from all the nations on the face of the earth to be a people peculiarly his own. 3 "You shall not eat any abominable thing. 4 These are the animals you may eat the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 the red deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the ibex, the addax, the oryx, and the mountain sheep. 6 Any animal that has hoofs you may eat, provided it is cloven-footed and chews the cud. 7 But you shall not eat any of the following that only chew the cud or only have cloven hoofs the camel, the hare and the rock badger, which indeed chew the cud, but do not have hoofs and are therefore unclean for you; 8 and the pig, which indeed has hoofs and is cloven-footed, but does not chew the cud and is therefore unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their dead bodies you shall not touch. 9 "Of the various creatures that live in the water, whatever has both fins and scales you may eat, 10 but all those that lack either fins or scales you shall not eat; they are unclean for you. 11 "You may eat all clean birds. 12 But you shall not eat any of the following the eagle, the vulture, the osprey, 13 the various kites and falcons, 14 all the various species of crows, 15 the ostrich, the nightjar, the gull, the various species of hawks, 16 the owl, the screech owl, the ibis, 17 the desert owl, the buzzard, the cormorant, 18 the stork, the various species of herons, the hoopoe, and the bat. 19 All winged insects, too, are unclean for you and shall not be eaten. 20 But you may eat any clean winged creatures. 21 "You must not eat any animal that has died of itself, for you are a people sacred to the LORD, your God. But you may give it to an alien who belongs to your community, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. "You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk. 22 "Each year you shall tithe all the produce that grows in the field you have sown; 23 then in the place which the LORD, your God, chooses as the dwelling place of his name you shall eat in his presence your tithe of the grain, wine and oil, as well as the firstlings of your herd and flock, that you may learn always to fear the LORD, your God. 24 If, however, the journey is too much for you and you are not able to bring your tithe, because the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the abode of his name is too far for you, considering how the LORD has blessed you, 25 you may exchange the tithe for money and, with the purse of money in hand, go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses. 26 You may then exchange the money for whatever you desire, oxen or sheep, wine or strong drink, or anything else you would enjoy, and there before the LORD, your God, you shall partake of it and make merry with your family. 27 But do not neglect the Levite who belongs to your community, for he has no share in the heritage with you. 28 "At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithes of your produce for that year and deposit them in community stores, 29 that the Levite who has no share in the heritage with you, and also the alien, the orphan and the widow who belong to your community, may come and eat their fill; so that the LORD, your God, may bless you in all that you undertake.

거룩한 백성에게 금지된 장례 풍습  1 “너희는 주 너희 하느님의 자녀들이다. 너희는 죽은 이를 위하여 제 몸에 상처를 내거나 앞머리를 밀어서는 안 된다.  2 이는 너희가 주 너희 하느님의 거룩한 백성이며, 주님께서 너희를 선택하시어 땅 위에 있는 모든 민족들 가운데에서 너희를 당신 소유의 백성으로 삼으셨기 때문이다.”  정결한 짐승과 부정한 짐승  3 “너희는 역겨운 것은 무엇이든지 먹어서는 안 된다.  4 너희가 먹을 수 있는 짐승은 이런 것들이다. 곧 소와 양과 염소,  5 사슴과 영양과 꽃사슴, 들염소와 산염소, 그리고 들양과 산양이다.  6 짐승 가운데 굽이 갈라지고 그 틈이 둘로 벌어져 있으며 새김질하는 짐승은 모두 너희가 먹을 수 있다.  7 그러나 새김질하거나 굽이 갈라졌더라도 이런 것들은 먹어서는 안 된다. 낙타와 토끼와 오소리는 새김질은 하지만 굽이 갈라지지 않았으므로 너희에게 부정한 것이다.  8 돼지는 굽은 갈라졌지만 새김질을 하지 않으므로 너희에게 부정한 것이다. 너희는 이런 짐승의 고기를 먹어서도 안 되고, 그 주검에 몸이 닿아서도 안 된다.  9 물에 사는 모든 것 가운데에서 이런 것은 너희가 먹을 수 있다. 지느러미와 비늘이 있는 것은 무엇이든 먹을 수 있다.  10 그러나 지느러미와 비늘이 없는 것은 너희에게 부정한 것이므로 먹어서는 안 된다.  11 정결한 새는 무엇이든지 너희가 먹을 수 있다.  12 그러나 그것들 가운데에서 먹을 수 없는 것은 이러하다. 곧 독수리와 참수리와 수염수리,  13 새매와 검은 솔개와 각종 말똥가리,  14 각종 모든 까마귀,  15 타조와 쏙독새와 갈매기와 각종 매,  16 부엉이와 올빼미와 따오기,  17 사다새와 물수리와 가마우지,  18 황새와 각종 왜가리와 오디새와 박쥐다.  19 날개 달린 곤충은 모두 너희에게 부정한 것이므로 먹어서는 안 된다.  20 그러나 정결하고 날개 달린 것은 모두 너희가 먹을 수 있다.  21 너희는 저절로 죽은 것은 아무것도 먹어서는 안 된다. 너희는 그것을 너희 성안에 있는 이방인에게 먹으라고 주거나, 외국인에게 팔아야 한다. 너희는 주 너희 하느님의 거룩한 백성이기 때문이다. 너희는 새끼 염소를 그 어미의 젖에 삶아서는 안 된다.”  십일조 규정  22 “너희는 해마다 밭에서 나는 모든 소출의 십분의 일을 떼어 놓아야 한다.  23 너희는 주 너희 하느님께서 당신의 이름을 머무르게 하시려고 선택하시는 곳에서, 너희의 곡식과 포도주와 기름의 십분의 일을, 그리고 너희의 소와 양의 맏배를 그분 앞에서 먹어야 한다. 그러면 너희가 언제나 주 너희 하느님을 경외하는 법을 배울 수 있을 것이다.  24 그러나 주 너희 하느님께서 너희에게 복을 내리셨는데, 주님께서 당신의 이름을 두시려고 선택하시는 곳이 너희에게서 너무 떨어져 있어서, 길이 멀어 십일조를 가져갈 수 없을 경우에는,  25 그것을 돈으로 바꾸어서 손에 단단히 쥐고, 주 너희 하느님께서 선택하시는 곳으로 가야 한다.  26 거기에서 너희가 원하는 것은 무엇이든지, 소나 양, 포도주나 독주, 그리고 마음에 드는 것은 무엇이든지 돈을 주고 사서, 주 너희 하느님 앞에서 먹으며, 너희와 너희의 온 집안이 기뻐해야 한다.  27 또한 너희 성안에 사는 레위인들도 저버려서는 안 된다. 그들에게는 너희와 함께 받을 몫도 상속 재산도 없기 때문이다.  28 너희는 세 해마다 끝에, 그해에 난 소출의 십분의 일을 모두 가져다가 너희 성안에 저장해 두어라.  29 그러면 너희 성안에서, 너희와 함께 받을 몫도 상속 재산도 없는 레위인과 이방인과 고아와 과부가 와서 배불리 먹게 될 것이다. 그러면 주 너희 하느님께서는 너희가 하는 모든 일에 복을 내리실 것이다.”

24 If, however, the journey is too much for you and you are not able to bring your tithe, because the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the abode of his name is too far for you, considering how the LORD has blessed you,

25 you may exchange the tithe for money and, with the purse of money in hand, go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses.

26 You may then exchange the money for whatever you desire, oxen or sheep, wine or strong drink, or anything else you would enjoy, and there before the LORD, your God, you shall partake of it and make merry with your family.
