BASIL JULEP
12 fresh basil leaves
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons water
2½ ounces bourbon
* Place 8 basil leaves in the bottom of a highball glass.
Add the sugar and water.
Using the back end of a wooden spoon, mash them together until the sugar is dissolved and the basil is "bruised."
Fill the glass with crushed ice, and slide the remaining basil leaves halfway down the sides of the glass.
Add the bourbon. Sip slowly for hours.
