Hi Kevin!
another late night letter, so it’ll have to be brief! (which means it will not be, because i don’t know the meaning of ‘less is more’). it’s been a long week and today was admittedly a tough day of work for me, so I want to be ready to do better tomorrow.
I’m in a bit of a catch-22 these days where i’m wanting more clients on my caseload, but i’m also exhausted from having so many clients on my caseload! I’m trying to hold on to some precious moments from the week, so i thought i’d document them here, starting with hopscotch!
The neighborhood where i park nearby my office had a hopscotch path pop up last week, and this week they continued it even further down the sidewalk! It’s brought me an unbelievable amount of joy— it’s nice to end my day of work with a little bit of play. It’s genuinely something i’ve been looking forward to each week now. I wish i knew who made it so i could write a little thank you note.
another wholesome moment: finally getting the chance to do art therapy with one of my clients after a couple of years! I used to do a lot of play and art therapy when i worked at the high school, but since moving to private practice i’ve mostly worked with adults and haven’t had a chance to do it again until recently. The prompt for this session was to draw something that we feel represents us. I hadn’t drawn for a long time an honestly have been pretty insecure about it, so it was meaningful even for me to tap into that creative side of myself again.
I don’t know if i’d categorize this as wholesome necessarily, but i had a fun moment with myself jamming out to this in the car this morning to hype myself up. It’s been a long time since it first came out, but i still get as pumped as i did the first time i heard it. I think this’ll be the start of my version of “hEY evERybOdY hERe’S a reALLy goOd sONG dON’t liSTeN tO anYThinG elSE tODaY!!!” 😁 (to be clear, this is indeed a superfruit reference). Truly though, i think you might like or at least appreciate it if you haven’t already heard it, so you can check it out if you’d like!
True to my word: not super brief haha but at least it’s not TOO late. I hope you have a wonderful day/evening (whenever you read this) with at least one moment of play— and from one human to another, thanks for checking in on a little slice of this human’s life!
Sincerely,
Michele
