Title: “서기관과 바리새인의 의 Righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees ”
Scripture: 마(Mt.)5:10-20
Word: 마(Mt.)5:20
λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν μὴ περισσεύσῃ ὑμῶν ἡ δικαιοσύνη πλεῖον τῶν γραμματέων καὶ Φαρισαίων, οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν.
Wrong translated Bible:
5:20 “내가 너희에게 이르노니 너희 의가 서기관과 바리새인보다 더 낫지 못하면 결단코 천국에 들어가지 못하리라" -개역한글
5:20 “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” -KJV
Word Parsing:
περισσεύσῃ (페리스세우세이:풍부할 것이다): “περισσεύω (페리스세우오: 아주 많아지다, 헬4052)”의 부정과거 가정법 능동태 3인칭 단수 동사. περισσεύσῃ (ferisseusei: shall abound): is Verb Aorist Subjunctive Active 3rd Person Singular of “περισσεύω (ferisseuw: abound, G4052)”.
δικαιοσύνη (디카이오수네: 의, 의로움): “δικαιοσύνη (디카이오수네: 의, 의로움, 헬1343)”의 주격 여성 단수 명사. δικαιοσύνη (dikaiosune: righteousness): is Noun Nominative Feminine Singular of “δικαιοσύνη (dikaiosune: righteousness, G1343)”.
οὐ (ou: 아니): 절대부정을 나타내는 부사 no. οὐ (ou: no): is expressing absolute negation Adverb no.
μὴ (me: 아니): 제한된 부정을 나타내는 부사 not. μὴ (me: not): is expressing limited negation Adverb not.
Yah-Bible:
번역: 마5:20 “내가 너희들에게 말한다 너희들의 의가 서기관들과 ㅍ하리새오스 보다 아주 많지 않으면, 절대로 하늘 왕국에 들어갈 수 없기 때문이다.” Translation: Mt.5:20 “for I say you that if not shall abound your righteousness you shall more of the Scibes and Pharisaios, no you not shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven.”
해석: 내가 너희에게 말하는데, 너희의 의가 서기관과 ㅍ하리새오스 보다 아주 많지 않으면 절대로 하늘 왕국에 들어갈 수 없다. Interpretation: I say to you, unless you have a lot your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisaios, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Commentary: While giving the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells the crowd that “righteousness” must be greater than that of the scribes and Pharisaios. Here “περισσεύω (Perisseuo: become very much, H4052)” does not mean “even a little more” than anyone else, but “very much”.
Therefore, it is said that if one’s “righteousness” is less than that of the scribes and Pharisaios, one can never enter the kingdom of heaven. The word “οὐ (ou)” used here is an adverb expressing absolute negation, meaning “absolutely not,” and “μὴ (me)” is an adverb expressing limited negation, meaning “you can enter other places, but the kingdom of heaven.” It was used to mean, “You cannot enter.”
1. Introduction:
Christian theologians and pastors who believe in the New Testament separately interpret the “scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees” recorded in the New Testament as wicked and hypocrites (Matthew 3:7, 16:6, 23:13, 15, 23, 26, 27).
However, this is only the claim of “Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,” the authors of the New Testament.
When we read the New Testament, we must read and interpret it with logical thinking. If we read the New Testament without logical thinking, we have no choice but to find false faith.
“논리적 사고”라는 것은 문장을 번역하여 문장의 의미를 찾고, 문장과 문장의 연결 사이에 발생하는 질문의 답을 찾아 전체 문장이 무엇을 말하는가를 정확히 찾는 것을 말한다. “Logical thinking” refers to translating sentences to find their meaning, answering questions that arise between sentences and their connections, and finding out exactly what the sentence says.
오늘의 주제 말씀 마5:20을 논리적 사고를 가지고, 개역한글 성경을 읽어보자. “내가 너희에게 이르노니 너희 의가 서기관과 바리새인보다 더 낫지 못하면 결단코 천국에 들어가지 못하리라." Let’s read today’s topic verse Matthew 5:20 in the Revised Korean Bible with logical thinking. “I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
여기서 우리가 찾아야 할 질문은 “서기관과 바리새인의 “의”가 무엇이기에 천국에 들어가고 못 들어가는 척도의 기준 점이 되는가?”이다. The question we need to find here is, “What is the “righteousness” of the scribes and Pharisees that serves as the standard for entering and not entering heaven?”.
먼저, 예수가 주장하는 “의”가 무엇인가를 알아보자. First, let’s find out what “righteousness” Jesus claims.
2. 예수가 주장하는 “의” 2. “Righteousness” claimed by Jesus
Mt.5:13, Jesus is speaking in parables to say something. “You are the salt of the earth,” “Salt is salty in taste,” and “Salt that is not salty is thrown away and trampled on.”
Question 1. “If it loses its taste, how can it be seasoned?” What is Jesus saying through this parable?
Through this parable, Jesus is saying “the role of salt,” that is, “make the world salty with your saltiness”. What makes things salty is “conduct”.
Mt.5:14-16, Jesus is also speaking in parables to say something. ‘You are the world's light’, ‘The light shines for all men’, and ‘Let your light shine before men’.
Question 2. “The light gives to everyone” What is Jesus saying through this parable?
Through this parable, Jesus is saying “the role of light,” that is, “let your light shine before people”. What shines forth is “conduct”.
All sermons so far have been based on Mt.5:13-16. This does not mean that this kind of sermon is wrong. But these sermons become salty and raise the question of what “works” are that shed light.
Question 3. How do we do “conduct” that is salty and flashlight?
I'm sure you will answer with cries of wind. “Good deeds, upright deeds, deeds that help the poor, deeds like a good Samaritan, etc.”
우리는 마5:17-20을 읽어보면, 질문3.에 대한 진짜 답을 알수 있다.
마5:17 “Μὴ νομίσητε ὅτι ἦλθον καταλῦσαι τὸν νόμον ἢ τοὺς προφήτας· οὐκ ἦλθον καταλῦσαι ἀλλὰ πληρῶσαι· 내가 율법 또는 예언서를 폐하러 왔다고 생각하지 마라, 내가 폐하러 온 것이 아니라 성취하러 왔다.” If we read Mt.5:17-20, we can find the real answer to question 3. 마5:17 “Μὴ νομίσητε ὅτι ἦλθον καταλῦσαι τὸν νόμον ἢ τοὺς προφήτας· οὐκ ἦλθον καταλῦσαι ἀλλὰ πληρῶσαι· Not think that I come to destroy the law or the prophets, I come not to destroy but to fulfill.”
Rather than explaining things, I want you to think for yourself and find answers by asking questions.
Question 4. What is law and what is prophecy?
The law is the rules that YHWH wrote through the priests to test the people of Ishra'el (Ex.15:26), and the prophecy is the rules that YHWH spoke through those upon whom His Spirit had come to tell what He would do to Yishra'el in the future. These are the records (Nu.11:25).
Question 5. Can Jesus abolish the law and prophecies?
Jesus cannot abolish the law and prophecy. Jer.31:36 “אִם־יָמֻ֜שׁוּ הַחֻקִּ֥ים הָאֵ֛לֶּה מִלְּפָנַ֖י נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה גַּם֩ זֶ֨רַע יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל יִשְׁבְּת֗וּ מִֽהְיֹ֥ות גֹּ֛וי לְפָנַ֖י כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃ ס if those statutes depart from front of me, YHWH said also the seed of Yishra’el shall cease from being a nation front of me forever.”
Interpretation: YHWH said, If the statutes are taken away from front of me, the descendants of Yishra'el will be cut off from being a nation forever.
Commentary: This means that if Yishra'el abolishes all the laws and prophecies that YHWH spoke to Yishra'el, YHWH will make Yishra'el cease to exist forever. Therefore, no one belonging to Yishra'el can abolish the law and prophecy.
질문6. “πληρῶσαι (프레로사이: 성취하다 )”는 무슨 뜻인가?
“πληρῶσαι ”는 성취하다는 뜻이지만, “완성하다, 완전하다”는 의미를 가지고 있다. 그래서 예수는 율법은 완전하게 지키고, 예언은 완전하게 완성하겠다는 뜻이다. Question 6. What does “πληρῶσαι (plerwsai: achieve)” mean?
“πληρῶσαι ” means to achieve, but also has the meaning of “complete, complete.” So, Jesus means that he will keep the law perfectly and completely fulfill the prophecy.
질문7. 예수가 율법을 온전히 지켰는가?
율법을 온전히 지키지는 않았다.
질문8. 구약성경에 기록된 예언중 예수가 성취한 예언은 무엇인가?
한 예언도 성취된 것이 없다. Question 7. Did Jesus completely keep the law?
He did not keep the law perfectly. fulfilled
Question 8. Among the prophecies recorded in the Old Testament, which prophecy did Jesus fulfill?
Not a single prophecy has been fulfilled.
마5:18 “ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, ἕως ἂν παρέλθῃ ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ, ἰῶτα ἓν ἢ μία κερέα οὐ μὴ παρέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ νόμου ἕως ἂν πάντα γένηται. 진정으로 내가 너희에게 말한다, 하늘과 땅이 없어진다 할지라도 율법으로부터 한 점 또는 한 획이 없어지지 않고, 모두 있을 것이다.” for verily I say to you, till soever passaway the sky and the land, one jot or one tittle no shall passaway, till soever all be.
해설: 한글 개역성경은 “다 이루리라”로 번역하고 있고, KJV는 “till soever all be fulfilled”라고 번역하고 있다. 즉 “이루리라, fulfilled”라는 단어는 기록되어 있지 않은 단어이다. 이렇게 없는 단어를 만들어 번역하면, 잘못된 번역이고, 잘못된 해석을 낳게 된다. Mt.5:18 “ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, ἕως ἂν παρέλθῃ ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ, ἰῶτα ἓν ἢ μία κερέα οὐ μὴ παρέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ νόμου ἕως ἂν πάντα γένηται. for verily I say to you, till soever passaway the sky and the land, one jot or one tittle no shall passaway, till soever all be.”
Commentary: The Korean Revised Version of the Bible translates it as “all things will be accomplished,” and the KJV translates it as “till soever all be fulfilled.” In other words, the word “fulfilled” is unrecorded. If you make up a word that does not exist and translate it, it will be an incorrect translation and lead to an incorrect interpretation.
Question 9. Interpret the translation “ fulfilled” So what has been fulfilled?
All of the laws have been fulfilled.
Question 10. Then, try interpreting the translation of the original Bible. So what will it all be?
Not one dot or tittle of the law is missing; it is all there. In other words, the law exists even if heaven and earth disappear.
Because of this, the sermons that have been preached so far about Jesus fulfilling the law and prophecy are bullshit sermons.
Let’s read Mt.5:19.
If you read the incorrect translation of Mt.5:18, verse 19 is a verse that cannot be written. Because the sermon so far has been, “Jesus saved us from sin by fulfilling the law through his death on the cross on behalf of everyone’s sins, so we have no reason to keep the law. Therefore, from now on, one cannot be saved through the law, but only through faith in Jesus”.
Since it is a passage that is not very important, the original language translation, interpretation, and commentary are omitted and replaced with a few questions.
질문11. “누구든지 이를 행하며 가르치는 자는”에서 “행하며’는 무엇을 행한다는 말인가?
율법을 행한다는 뜻이다. Question 11. In “Whoever practices and teaches these things,” what does “practice” mean?
It means carrying out the law.
Mt.5:20 “λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν μὴ περισσεύσῃ ὑμῶν ἡ δικαιοσύνη πλεῖον τῶν γραμματέων καὶ Φαρισαίων, οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν. for I say you that if not shall abound your righteousness you shall more of the Scibes and Pharisaios, no you not shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven.”
Question 12. What is “δικαιοσύνη (dikaiosune: righteousness, G1343)”?
I cannot answer this question without reading Mt.5:18-19. “Righteousness” refers to doing and teaching the law.
In other words, the “righteousness” Jesus speaks of in Mt.5:10-20 is doing the law. To explain in more detail, “righteousness” in Mt.5:10 is the work of the law. The “persecution of the prophets” in verse 12 is because of the works of the law. The “taste of salt” in verse 13 is an act of the law. The “light” in verses 14-16 is the work of the law. Verse 16 calls these “good deeds”.
The “righteousness” that Jesus claims is the act of keeping the law.
3. 서기관 3. scribe
지금까지 기독교 설교가들은 서기관을 외식하는 자들이라고 규정하여 설교해 왔다. 과연 기독교 설교가들은 서기관 누구이면 무슨일을 행하는 사람들인가를 잘 알고 있어서일까? 아니 당신들은 서기관이 누구인가 잘 알고 있는가? Until now, Christian preachers have preached by defining scribes as hypocrites. Are Christian preachers aware of who the scribes are and what they do? No, do you know who the scribe is?
Question 13. Who is the scribe?
The scribes of the Old Testament era were people who belonged to the tribe of priests and were responsible for copying and teaching the law. The scribes of the New Testament era were a time when there was no nation, so unlike the scribes of the Old Testament era, they did not belong to a certain tribe but belonged to any tribe. Regardless, anyone with recognized knowledge of the law can become a scribe. Additionally, scribes were distinguished from law scholars. Therefore, in the New Testament era, scribes were people who copied the Bible, and law scholars were people who studied and taught the law.
질문14. 그럼, 당신은 서기관들이 주장하는 “의”는 무엇이라 생각하는가?
실재 신약 성경에는 서기관들이 주장하는 “의”에 대해서는 전혀 기록이 없다. 그러나 서기관들은 율법에 대한 학식이 풍부하고, 성경을 필사하는 사람들이기 때문에 그들이 만일 “의”를 주장한다면 그들이 주장하는 “의”는 율법을 지키는 것이 될 것이다. Question 14. So, what do you think is the “righteousness” that the scribes claim?
In reality, there is no record of the “righteousness” claimed by the scribes in the New Testament. However, since the scribes are rich in knowledge of the law and copy the Bible, if they claim “righteousness,” the “righteousness” they claim will be keeping the law.
4. 바리새인 4. Pharisees
Question 15. Pharisees, along with scribes, are separated from Christians as hypocrites. Who are these Pharisees and what do they do?
The Pharisees are a pietistic sect of Judaism that is said to have been formed in the 2nd century BC. However, their tradition is believed to have begun with Ezra in the 5th century BC.
The Pharisees are a conservative faction of the Levitical, or priestly, tradition of Judaism. They strictly observed the Pentateuch (Torah) and tried to preserve the traditional Jewish faith.
질문16. 당신은 모세오경(토라)를 철저히 준수하는 바리새인들이 주장하는 “의”는 무엇이라 생각하는가?
“창세기, 출애굽기, 레위기, 민수기, 신명기”를 모세오경 이라하고, 모세오경에 기록된 모든 “계명, 명령, 판결 규례, 규례”를 “토라” 즉 율법 이라 한다. 이 율법을 철저히 준수하며 살아가는 사람들이 바리새인들이다. Question 16. What do you think is the “righteousness” claimed by the Pharisees who strictly follow the Pentateuch (Torah)?
“Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy” are called the Five Books of Moses, and all the “commandments, commands, judgments, and regulations” recorded in the Five Books of Moses are called “Torah,” that is, the Law. The people who strictly follow this law and live by it are the Pharisees.
5. 기독교인들이 주장하는 “의” 5. “Righteousness” claimed by Christians
기독교인들 중 “예수가 모든 율법과 예언을 성취하였기에, 우리는 율법을 지킬 필요가 없다”라고 주장하는 기독교인들에게 질문한다. The writer, I question those Christians who claim that “Jesus fulfilled all the laws and prophecies, so we do not need to keep the laws.”
For the righteousness of God in it is revealed from faith to faith, as written, but the righteousness shall live by faith.”
Question 17. What is the “faith” that Christians believe?
The author has lived with the same faith as Christians for over 60 years. However, as I read the original language of the Bible, I realized that the beliefs I had been believing were false. The author does not know what faith the New Testament speaks of. This is because no passage in the New Testament tells us exactly what faith is.
Does “Believe in Jesus” mean believing in a person named Jesus? Or are we to believe the story Jesus told?
To believe in Jesus, his actions must match his words. If his words and actions do not match, he is a liar. It is foolish to believe a liar.
Please read the New Testament accurately and judge whether Jesus is telling the truth or lying. Here is an example sentence for you.
John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to him, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
(Discussionist's claim: Did the 12 disciples, who believed in Jesus the most, die? Are they alive? The answer is: They died. Then did they come back to life? The answer is that not a single person has been resurrected until now. Then, is there anyone who believed in Jesus and is still alive today? The answer is not. It is truly foolish to believe in a Jesus who tells such lies.)
질문18. 무엇이 “의”인가?
“δικαιοσύνη 의”는 “형용사”이고, “δίκαιος 의인”은 “부사”이다. Question 18. What is “righteousness”?
“δικαιοσύνη righteousness” is an “adjective,” and “δίκαιος righteous” is an “adverb.”
롬3:28 “λογιζόμεθα γὰρ δικαιοῦσθαι πίστει ἄνθρωπον χωρὶς ἔργων νόμου. 사람이 율법의 행위없이 믿음으로 의롭게 되는 줄 우리가 생각한다.” Rom.3:28 “λογιζόμεθα γὰρ δικαιοῦσθαι πίστει ἄνθρωπον χωρὶς ἔργων νόμου. For we think by faith a man is by justify without the works of Law.”
질문19. 믿음으로 의롭게 된다는 것은 믿음인가? 아니면, 당신의 생각인가? Question 19. Is justification by faith faith? Or is it your opinion?
질문20. 무엇을 믿어야 의롭게 되는가? Question 20. What must you believe to be righteous?
질문21. 율법의 행위 없이 무엇으로 의롭게 되었다는 것을 증명할 수 있는가?
롬4:1-12을 읽어보면, 위 질문21.의 답변 찾을 수 있다. 그러나 정확히 읽어보면, 롬4:1-12는 창15:6의 내용과 전혀 일치하지 않는 사도 바울의 억지 해석이다. Question 21. By what means can one prove righteousness without the works of the law?
If you read Rom.4:1-12, you can find the answer to question 21 above. However, if you read it correctly, Rom.4:1-12 is a far-fetched interpretation of Apostle Paul that does not match the content of Gen.15:6 at all.
창15:6 “וְהֶאֱמִ֖ן בַּֽיהוָ֑ה וַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָ לֹּ֖ו צְדָקָֽה׃ 그리고 그가 야웨를 믿었더니 그가 그를 의롭다 평가했다.” 창15:6 “וְהֶאֱמִ֖ן בַּֽיהוָ֑ה וַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָ לֹּ֖ו צְדָקָֽה׃ And he believed in YHWH and he counted to him for righteousness.”
Question 22. Gen.15:6 says, “Abram believed in YHWH,” and Rom.4:3 says, “Abraham believed in God.” What is the difference between believing in YHWH in Gen.15:6 and believing in God in Rom.4:3?
Since I don't think you will understand the author's intention, I will give you the answer right away.
Believing in YHWH in Gen.15:6 means believing in the words of Gen.15:5. Because, from verses 12 to 13 and 14, Abram has believed in what YHWH said, which means it is not a certain faith, but a faith that may or may not come to pass. YHWH evaluated Abram, who believed that way, as being right to believe that way.
However, in Rom.4:3, believing in God means believing in God without any reason or background explanation. And Abraham means that he was made righteous by God, in whom he believed unconditionally. Therefore, even if you do not work, are ungodly, commit illegal acts, or commit sins, if God makes you righteous, you become righteous.
Looking at Rom.4:9-11, it is even more pathetic.
Question 23. If Abraham was considered righteous while uncircumcised, why did he have to be circumcised?
Question 24. Are Abraham's descendants righteous even if they are not circumcised?
Question 25. Are the slaves purchased by Abraham righteous even if they are not circumcised?
Question 26. In Ex.4:24, YHWH tries to kill Mosheh. Is it because Mosheh is an uncircumcised righteous man?
기독교인들의 “의”에 대한 글을 쓰다보니 논자의 입에서 욕만 나온다. 그래서 간단히 신약성경이 말하는 “의”를 정리하겠다. When writing about the “righteousness” of Christians, only swear words come out of the writer’s mouth. So, let me briefly summarize what the New Testament talks about: “righteousness.”
기독교인들의 “의”는 오직 믿음이다. 이들이 주장하는 “오직 믿음”은 믿음의 주체인 누구를 믿느냐에 답이 없고, 무엇을 믿느냐에도 답이 없다. 그리고 왜 믿느냐에도 답이 없다.
결국 머리를 쥐어짜서 만들어낸 믿음의 대상은 “예수”라고 한다. The “righteousness” of Christians is faith alone. The “only faith” they claim has no answer to who the subject of faith believes in, nor does it answer to what one believes. And there is no answer as to why you believe it.
In the end, it is said that the object of faith that was created after racking one's brains was "Jesus."
6. 결론: 6. Conclusion:

“Jesus,” the subject of “righteousness” claimed by Christians, says, “Righteousness is the act of completely keeping the law.”
But why do Christians abolish the law and claim that one cannot become righteous through works? Okay. I question Christians who claim that one cannot become righteous through works. (Christian's answer/Discussionist's answer)

Question 34. Is there anyone who believes in Jesus and lives eternally? (No. / No.)
No matter how much Christians try to abolish the law, it is the law that cannot be abolished. This is because even Jesus, the god of Christians, says that “righteousness” is the act of keeping the law, and uses the “righteousness” of the scribes and Pharisees as the standard for determining whether or not one can enter heaven. In other words, for Jesus, believing in himself is not the standard for whether or not he can enter heaven, but whether or not he keeps the law is the standard for whether or not he can enter heaven.
Mt.5:20 must be read accurately.
The scribes and Pharisees are members of the tribe of Levi and are scholars of the law who strive to keep the law without making a single mistake. This means that you cannot enter heaven unless you keep it a little better than the “righteousness” of the scribes and Pharisees, but much more.
The conclusion is that if you keep the law as well as the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter heaven. This means that no one will enter heaven. Therefore, no one has entered heaven since the records of the Old Testament to this day.
