This is a total mobility exercise for the quads, hips, pirformis, glutes, low back and thoracic spine. This will aid anyone who is having limited movement in the shoulder as well.
If you notice it to be difficult to rotate from the mid spine to bring that L. shoulder back you may have a thoracic spine limitation.
You should be asking yourself at this point if you also have shoulder issues as the thoracic spine plays a big role in shoulder mobility.
