At the track yesterday Sunday 07 January I spotted Matt Russel and the new Caster Truggy which landed only recently in Australia. Wasting no time RDRC had a chat with Matt Russell and took some pics of the truck...
Matt quickly pointed out that he would have liked a better paint job on the truggy and appologised saying it was a bit dirty as it had just been tested on grass that day and brought the Caster down to LRRCC for a test run as the Summer Challenge RD 2 had just finished leaving an empty track to do some trials.
Well we reckon the best way to look at a truggy is one where it has been used so we didnt care for the body colour or a bit of grass and dirt so here it is!! The version you are looking at today is the Pro kit.
This truggy is exclusively dirtributed through JPM Racing and available as of next week to all reputable LHS's check trade and customer enquiry details at the end of this segment.
The differences between the Pro and Standard RTR is mainly on the shock towers in terms of grade and thickness but both are made to the highest machined standards.
For instance the Pro as standard has its shock towers made from 7075 machined CNC lightened alloy at 5mm thickness compared with the standard which uses 6061aluminium at 4.2mm thickness.
The caster pillowball assembly has been re-designed and toughened and the truck comes with front and back CNC billeted shock braces where the standard comes with metal braces and ball plastic tie rods.
Oher differences between pro and standard for instance are the ackerman on the standard are cut outs and the pro are CNC also the standard comes with softer red springs so they are differently rated .
Matt tells me that the Caster will come in three configurations; as seen in Pro kit then the Pro RTR. The standard Caster RTR truggy will come with either an STS .28 or a Force engine but thats an option for the LHS so you would need to enquire as to what specification you want or the LHS can get but at this stage the two configurations are how they will ship.
Matt indicated that the Caster Pro RTR will come with a selection of high end custom configurations however these are yet to be decided on in terms of how many types etc.. but rest assured if the herdened racer wants a ready to run deamon they will be available.
RDRC will bring you more on this truggy shortly including an in depth review we have arranged through JPM Racing real soon but for now enjoy the sneak Peek!
The new truggy is available now and will hit many LHS's from this week onwards, if your favourite LHS does not carry this truggy either ask that they contact Matt Russell or JPM Racing using the contact details below;
