[NOTICE]
Since I'm trying to contain the number of participants within no more than 10
due to the nature of this study group and limited seatings,
current members are fixed as below.
It means that even though you've had an interview a long time ago and joined a few times
it doesn't automatically give you the green light to participate.
If you happen to be absent more than a month in a row,
please give me a notice and I won't count you out
otherwise I would assume you're not willing to attend anymore
so unoccupied seat will be passed to a new commer.
If you wish to attend after a long-time absence, please contact me first. :)
CURRENT MEMBERS are...
Tia, Andy, (Simon), (Miisu), Matthew, Sun, James, Kim, Grace,
Sanghwa, Danny, Amelia, Jae-Sang, Jin, Jinny, Sophie
Minutes of the meeting on 8/8
We had 4 English talkaholics on last Sat. me, James, Sun, and Sanghwa.
We had a small group wtih lovely members, which allowed us to have a bit more chats to catch up each other, and James naturally brought his topic. He was very concerned about environment as it gets worse dramatically such as ultra fine dust, climate change and etc. We talked about how much people suffer from those man-made disasters and shared ideas on how we could possibly try to solve it. Sun cast a question picked from 'Essays in love' by Alain de Botton, saying 'do I love you because you're beautiful, Or are you beautiful because I love you?'. Have you(yes, you're reading this post) thought about this? I also want to know your answer, too!ㅋ My topic was a recent sexual harassment case in high school with more than ahundred of victims including teachers and students and whether he's eligible for public officials pension. And our briliant members verified the fact that a public servant who laid off by dishonorable conduct only gets benefits by half and we thougth that's reasonable.
We debated over the issue of the real name verification law during campaign periods. James and I suopported the law as it is true that people are infulenced by those online romors and most of them are not interested in authenticating those groundless words. Plus, we hoped possibly this law might able to impede those working for political party online by spreading rumors online. However Sun and Sangwha argued revealing real name discourages people from participating, and the ulterior motive behind law is to control people.
We had lunch together in a Japanese restaurant with relentless chats!
I had so much fun as always!!! Thank you guys for coming and hope to see everybody again!! :)

ONLY 2 RULES YOU HAVE TO ADHERE TO in the study
SPEAKING ONLY ENGLISH
Why we're defying the strong desire to sleep in
and struggling to come and study
is
to improve our English, isn't it?
Then I want you to have as many chances as possible to practice English!!
We're speaking in English even during the lunch time,

BE PUNCTUAL
Due to the nature of the study, Punctuality matters.
