People are now banned from standing or stopping on bridges. Violate the ordinance, and you could face up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine. Athar Haseebullah with the American Civil Liverties Union says this is a violation of First Amendment rights. "If you are up there taking a picture, if you tie your shoelace, if you need a break to catch your air for a couple minutes, you stop to protest, you stop to engage in sharing your faith." UNLV professor William Sousa says disorder has increased along the Strip. "Fights, um, public intoxication, uh public drug activity, suspicious persons."
