Beyond words how great this man was!
Two musical geniuses at their best.
Something very calm and beautiful about this peace, Pavarotti's exemplary phrasing accentuates this.

해가 지는 곳으로 라는 책을 읽고 들으러왔어요 글들이 그림이 돼서 머릿속에 그려지는 게 너무 좋네요..
<3 I don't think I can do this piece justice after listening to this.

Don't feel bad. Nobody can.
its songs like this that make me love being a tenor!
I agree. I am training as a tenor and I sang this art song.

indeed, while the beautiful, flowing legato is typical of Bel Canto works in general, Bellini's work in particular seems to epitomize these traits and of course Maestro Pavarotti was arguably the greatest Bel Canto singer of our times, much as Gigli was in his time.

I agree with the first part of your comment, but I would NEVER call Pavarotti the best BEL CANTO tenor; he couldn't cope with the athleticism of coloratura which require voices like Juan Diego Florez (whom Pavarotti admired hugely). No, for me, Pavarotti quickly moved to lyric roles, in which he excelled, retaining the lovely legato of Bel canto.

Love seems so feeble a word to describe my appreciation for Pavarotti's awesome gift!

Absolutely beautiful. I agree with MagnusBros: knowing the translation makes it so meaningful for me. My boyfriend once sang this at an audition and, when asked why, he explained that I suffer from anxiety and depression.
Sometimes I listen to this song at least 5 times in a row. Vincenzo Bellini.. I like his song. How many good songs would have been made if you had lived longer?

Nobody can sing this song in this manner. Only Pavarotti can. Lots of people sing this song really well, but this is a great moment.

I'm happy to have been able to share this Chrissy1095. You are welcome! Lucianno Pavarotti was a gift indeed..one of a kind in my opinion.
Wow. This is gorgeous. I have so many mixed feelings about him-- I saw him at the MET many times, many years ago, and was enthralled by the heroic sound, the timbre, the quantity of the sound. Eventually, though, I was embarrassed, bothered by the feeling he was treating music like a boxing match-- just get a note up there and count, no matter what happens to the musical line. Not true here-- truly truly wonderful.
