The hostile spirit of darkness stood in his way, trampled on and trapped the saints, and demonstrated its power. But paradoxically, the gospel spread, the church gained vitality, the influence expanded, and evil collapsed. What are the factors that drive the country forward through the crisis?
-
It appears that nature is hiding in the strong, not the stronger, to bring down the stronger. It means that the trap that decisively destroys you is within you. Herod was the only one who took off the round trip. If you don't control yourself, you can collapse or destroy yourself at any time. James the Apostle is martyred by Herod's sword.
-
The world's focus is not whether the gospel is true but whether it is in its own interest. It is not the life of a saint to line up to ingratiate the world. John's brother James led Herod's authoritarian rule to his death, but Peter, trapped in prison, miraculously saved him just before his execution by sending an angel. Both were important leaders of the first church that Jesus always took care of while he was alive, one of which made him the first apostle to be martyred, and the other to preach the gospel for a longer time.
-
Then the LORD sent an angel commando to escape Peter. The four guards of four men were guarding each other like ironclad and chained to lock him up, but God put Peter out of prison just as he sent Israel out of exile on Passover. Now he showed that the Jewish Passover was completed through Jesus, who beat the death. When Peter was imprisoned, the church prayed earnestly to God.
-
Peter's escape from prison was an event like a dead man coming to life, to the extent that he said he was crazy or would be his guardian angel when he announced Peter's birth. I thought about why the Lord let the apostle James be martyred, and there seem to be two reasons. First of all, it is because the power of the world confronts God, and on the side of our Lord, when the saints keep their faith (martyrdom), the church becomes stronger.
-
Perhaps the apostle Peter knew this and slept in prison snoring. Not always, but today the Lord listened to the church's earnest prayers and sent an angel to escape the iron-clad jade gate. The Jerusalem church follows the good news after the good news of the Andiok church. When the mission was successful, the Jerusalem church was persecuted, James was martyred, and Peter was imprisoned.

Herod, who needed the support of the Jews to strengthen his position, did not hesitate to persecute Christians. If Herod's way is to kill people to please people, Jesus' way is to kill himself to please God, and his brothers' way is. As the Church of Jerusalem showed a tolerant attitude toward strangers, it seems that Jews were dissatisfied with the church leadership (1).
-
As a result, Herod attempted to ingratiate himself with the Jewish people and to undermine the church's influence, following James and Peter, the plan fell through due to the Holy Spirit's intervention, and Herod put all the blame on the guards. Herod had to realize God's power after seeing a miraculous event that no one could explain, but the execution of the guards reminded him of the 3-S dictatorship.
-
The Duro and Sidon people, who were economically dependent on Herod, conspire with their servant, who served as the king's bedside, to ease Herod's anger and ingratiate themselves. Knowing that this is not true, they praise the king's speech as God's, not as a human being's. "Your honor, your honor." God judges and kills Herod, who is arrogant and has stolen the glory of God. He raises himself to heaven, and he is eaten by the most beautiful thing, an insect.
-
Herod who appears here is Herod Agrippa I (AD41-44), the nephew of Herod Antibas, who killed John the Baptist and interrogated Jesus. According to Josephus, Herod went to Gaisha to participate in the birthday celebration of the Roman emperor, where he was greeted by people calling him God because he shone brightly in the morning sun when he gave a speech wearing silver and fancy fabric clothes. "Our god of the world and the world! May you live in hooray!"

Just as God demonstrated the freedom of the gospel by breaking the chains and opening the jade door to save Peter, he makes them more talkative by judging the persecuted Herod. On the way back from delivering donations to the Jewish Christians, Banaba and Saul brought in another important minister named Mark. They discovered, set up, and worked with them at every opportunity. They seemed to have a good understanding of mission, ministry, and inseparable relationships between people. Lord, am I doomed again?

I do not understand the death of James, but because I am a saint, please give me faith to participate in the suffering I have to endure. But I will accept, trust, and pray for your will and sovereignty toward me, for you have given me the privilege to pray in any event of difficulty. Lord, who slaughtered James, imprisoned Peter, and persecuted the church, but today I praise the God of Victory, who turned all this around and made the word of God prosperous. Lord, I have lived a humble life before power, like Durro and Sidon, whose throat is sometimes grapevine. I want to enjoy people's praises like Herod, but I am dying because I have nothing to boast about. Lord, forgive me for my sins. Please do not blindly endure hope, but learn to persevere in the midst of hope and humbly live in the glory of the Lord.
