Q-1 Would you define 'tourism'?
A-1 It can be defined as the sum of the phenomena and relationships arising from the interaction of tourists, business suppliers, host governments, and host communities in the process of attraction and hosting tourists and other visitors.
Tourism is a composite of activities, services, and industries that delivers a travel experience, namely: transportation, accommodations, eating and drinking establishments, entertainment, and other hospitality services available for individuals or groups that are traveling away from home.
Q-2 Would you explain the difference between 'tourist' and 'excursionist'?
A-2 According to WTO, a 'tourist' is a temporary visitor staying at least 24 hours in the country visited and the purpose of leisure, business etc. An 'excursionist' is a temporary visitor styaing less than 24 hours in the country visited.
Q-3 What is 'leisure'?
A-3 Leisure is discretionary time avaiable after necessary work and home tasks are completed.
Q-4 Would you define the concept of 'recreation'?
A-4 Recreation is the action and activities of people engaged in the constructive and personally pleasurable use of leisure time. Recreation may include passive or active participation in individual or group sports, cultural functions, natural and human history appreciation, nonformal education, pleasure travel, sightseeing, and entertainment.
Q-5 What are characteristics of tourist attractions?
A-5 Tourist attractions draw visitors to them, They attempt to serve the recreational needs of visitors, They can be developed anywhere and act as a growth inducer, tending to be developed first in a tourist region. They may be based on natural resources, cultures, ethnicity or entertainment.
Q-6. What is 'social tourism'?
A-6 IT is government-subsidized tourism, encouraging the availability of non-commercial tourism experiences for those who would otherwise be defined for financial or physical reasons. Tourism is seen as improving mental and physical health as well as family relations.
Q-7 What is cultural tourism?
A-7 It is tourism that focuses upon the rich heritage of a people or area as preserved and portrayed in monuments, historic sires, traditional architecture, and artifacts.
Q-8 Would you explain 'resort condominiums'?
A-8 The concept of resort condominium has been successful in popular resort areas such as Jeju island, Mt. Sorak national par사 and various 나 resorts. A condominium is a residential building consisting of apartment units that a person owns rather than rents. The term also refer to the units.
Q-9 What is a 'theme park'?
A-9 IT is often a destination itself which offers entertainment as well as educational experiences, consistent with its underlying concept or theme, examples are Disney land and Lotte world.
