少陽傷風證

※ 陷은빠지다의 뜻으로 fall into에 해당되나 (위험 등에)빠진다는 의역의 뜻에 가까우므로 이 보다는 besiege의-을 공격하다.의 수동형이 이해를 돕는데 더 유용할 것으로 사려된다. 그 외에도 사용할 수 있는 단어로는 envelope, invest 등이 있다.

1. Radix Euphorbiae Kansui is for removing the accumulation of Fluid in the chest in the Exterior cold disease. For the Exterior disease, Radix Euphorbiae Kansui can be used, but not Gypsum Fibrosum

1. Gypsum Fibrosum is a drug for relaxing the bowels in the Interior Heat disease. For the Interior disease, Gypsum Fibrosum can be used, but not Radix Euphorbiae Kansui.

少陽人大便 頭燥尾滑 體大而疏通者 平時無病者之 大便也
1. If the stool is dry at first and loose later, and there is no difficulty in bowel movement, the Shaoyang person is in a healthy condition.
其次 大便滑 一二次 快滑泄 廣大而止者 有病者之 病快解之大便也
1. Second, if the bowel movement stops after one or two times of a large amount of stool, the patient will be recovered..
其次 一二次 尋常滑便者 有病者 病勢不加之大便也
1. Third, ordinarily one or two times of smooth stool indicates that the patient condition has not been aggravated.
其次 或 過一晝夜有餘不通 或 一晝夜間 三四五次 小小滑利者 將澁之候也 非好便也 宜預防
1. Fourth, no bowel movement for more than one day and night, or small amount of loose stool three, four or five times one day and night, indicates that the patient will get constipated, which is a bad prognosis requiring prevention.

※ 丹毒은 의학용어사전상 erysipelas 또는 phlogosis로 번역되고, 流注라는 것은 몸의 이곳 저곳을 돌아다니면서 발생한다는 것을 의미하는 것으로 이 의미에 완전히 부합되지는 않지만, multiple이라는 것은 多發性으로 번역되는 것으로 어느 정도 의미에 통하는 것 같다.
消渴

※消渴이라 함은 원래 多飮, 多尿, 多渴을 주증으로 하여 上消, 中消, 下消를 모두 포괄하는 것이나, 이제마의 수세보원에서는 消渴의 의미를 胸膈의 熱氣로 인한 多渴로 인해 多飮하는 것을 의미한다. 따라서, polydipsia는 의학사전상 煩渴症, 多飮多渴症. 당뇨병에서와 같이 장기간 지속되는 비정상적으로 강한 口渴 또는 渴症을 의미하는 것으로 消渴에 이를 적용하는 것도 타당한 듯하나, 그 의미를 정확히 표현한다면 2처럼 나타낼 수 있을 것 같다.
消中

※polyphagia는 최승훈 교수님의 영역본에서 消中을 번역해 놓은 것으로, 의학용어로 多食症, 大食症을 의미하는 것이다. 消中이라는 것은 중초의 열로 인해 다식하나 몸은 마르는 것을 의미하는 것으로 polyphagia만으로는 그 의미를 정확히 전달하지 못한다. 따라서, 消中을 풀어 놓은 의미상 (최승훈교수님의 영역본 참조) 식욕과잉과 쇠약으로 정의될 수 있다. 단, 식욕과잉은 over-appetite도 될 수 있으나 hyperorexia도 될 수 있다.
