<Lesson 5: The Figurative Food and Yeast>
Hello~! My name is Hye-yoon Jung, and I'm so glad to see you!
Today, let's learn about the parable of The Figurative Food and Yeast in Lesson 5 together.
I'll explain the answer to the parable first, followed by the introduction and then the conclusion. The answer to the parable The Figurative Food is the word and the Yeast is the lesson. The scriptures for the parable are Matthew 24:45-47 and Mark 13:33. So let's read those scriptures together.
Yes, you read that right. It says that there was a man who was a loyal and wise servant who was given charge of his master's household and distributed food to them in for the time.
The loyal and wise servant is the true shepherd, and we'll get to that later. What does the master's house mean?
the church of God, and the people in this context are the saints.
Let's take a look at the characteristics and spiritual meaning of each of the two, the food and the yeast and their spiritual meaning.
First of all, let's talk about the physical nature of food. Physical food is eating, right? When you eat something, is it good for you or bad for you? and harmful to the body?
When you eat something that is good for you, it keeps you healthy and alive, but when you eat something that is harmful, it causes disease and death.
When we get into the spiritual realm, we see that there are two spirits in the Bible, so there is life and there is death in what we eat. The meaning is that God's food is life, and Satan's food is death.
Let's talk about God's food first.
In Isaiah 55:1-3, we are told to come and drink wine and milk without cost to those who are thirsty.
The water we are told to drink is not used in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense, right?
The food in the parable is the Word!
Just as there is food at the First Coming, there is food at the Second Coming. Let's start with the food at the First Coming.
In John 6, when Jesus says to eat the bread of life, flesh and blood, and the words are spirit and life, it is not a physical expression, but a spiritual meaning. To the disciples, in verse 68, Peter, one of the twelve, said to Jesus, "Here are the words of eternal life.
That they should go to him and eat because he has the words of life.
In the first and second coming, there is a famine, Amos 8:11, not a hunger or thirst because there is no food or water. there is a spiritual famine of not hearing the word of God.
Just as there is food for life at the first coming, there will be food to eat at the second coming. What kind of food will we have to eat when there is famine and hunger at the first and second coming?
Shouldn't we be looking for and seeking food in its proper season?
There is also the food of life at the coming of the Lord. In Matthew 24 we are told that there will be "food in fot the time" for the saints to eat at the Second Coming.
There is also a "faithful and wise slave" who distributes this food.
What is this "seasonal food" and the "faithful and wise slave?" Let's find out!
Mt 24:7 At the time of the Lord's return: There is a famine, and in verse 45 it says that there is salvation in eating the food in due season.
This is a prophetic statement.
In the Bible, there are four categories of prophecy in terms of content, so there are history lessons and prophecy. Among them, the words that are fulfilled in time are prophecy.
is prophecy. The food that is given according to the season is the word that testifies to the prophecy and the reality of the prophecy when it is fulfilled.
revelation. In Revelation 2:17, the faithful and wise slave gives the overcomer the hidden manna.
This manna refers to the hidden word, or revelation, in the parable. When the time comes, this revelation must be eaten, and there must be a loyal and wise servant who can give this word.
loyal and wise servant who can give it to you.
Next, we're going to look at the leaven of the parable. The parable is from Matthew 13:33.
It says, "The woman took some leaven and put it into the lump, and it made it all rise." Leaven has the property of leavening and transforming. and transformative properties.
When we look at spiritual leaven, we are told to be careful what we eat in Lk 12:1. For there is leaven to be eaten, and there is leaven not to be eaten. and leaven that should not be eaten? There are two kinds of spiritual leaven. God's leaven and
God's leaven is new leaven and Satan's leaven is old leaven.
Eph4:21-24 Seeing that you are being transformed from the old man to the new, putting off the old. We can see that the leaven is a lesson because it is through the Word that we are transformed.
Prov 19:27 There are some lessons we should never listen to. We are also trainees who are able to discern which lessons we should receive and eat. which lessons we should receive and eat.
Let's talk about Satan's food.
If we refer to Prov 4:17, Rev 17:2 (Rev 18:2-3), and Gen 2:17, we see that if you eat the bread of unrighteousness, the unclean bread, the wine of fornication, and the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will die. Therefore, the meaning of Satan's food is untruth. Commentary, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Looking at today's topic, the key takeaway is that we need to change and be born again, but what needs to change? It's the mind! That we must be born again and changed by eating the right leaven!
Let's come to the conclusion and summarize the Word.
1. God's food is the Word, which is life.
2. Satan's food is death.
3. The timely food at the Second Coming is
the prophecies of Matthew 24 and Revelation and the reality of their fulfillment.
4.The faithful and wise slave is the shepherd of the promises who testifies to the word of revelation.
5.The leaven of God is God's instruction, or truth, that transforms and enables us to walk in the image of God. It is so important that we feed on this truth and be transformed!
6. Satan's leaven is is the untruth that causes us to be transformed into the image of the devil.
If you are a trainee who hopes for the Kingdom of Heaven, you must meet the faithful and wise servant and eat the food according to the season.
and be transformed by God's leaven to become a new person who can reach heaven.
Thank you for listening.
