<P>▷ 참고 : Car, Vehicle모두 ‘자동차’를 뜻하는데요, car는 바퀴가 4개 달린 자동차를 의미하고요, ‘vehicle’은 ‘car’보다는 조금 더 포괄적인 의미로, ‘(어떤 ) 탈 것’을 총칭한다고 생각하시면 됩니다. 예를 들어, motorcycle, 오토바이나 truck, 트럭은 vehicle의 한 종류이긴 하지만, car 자동차라고 할 순 없죠!</P>

<P>계속해서 ‘기어 변속기’, 한국에서는 그냥 ‘기어’라고 부르는데요, 기어는 ‘gear’는 ‘톱니 바퀴, 장치’ 라는 뜻이 구요, 기어 변속기의 올바른 영어 표현은 ‘Transmission’이라는 것 꼭 알아두세요!</P>

About 8 years ago, I had driven a TOWNER with manual transmission. At that time I was very embarassed whenever I climbed over the hill (they called 고바우 ).
I always was clumsy to operate a gear shift. If other car come along with my car on the road the front and back to the hill, I often had to stop my car in the middle way toward the hill, owing to the speed ahead.
At the point, I couldn't make starting again and my car began to push down. Looking back the time, now I can feel the sticky sweat on my back.
Your expression of your driving experience is very impressive (almost 코쟁이, real 코맹맹이) I envy your well composed text... surely you have live abroad for many years in an English speaking country.
