▶The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf [From Aesop's Fable ]
- Plot of Story -
"The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf" is a well-known fable attributed to the ancient Greek storyteller Aesop. Let me share the story with you:
Once upon a time, there was a young shepherd boy who tended his sheep at the foot of a mountain near a dark forest. His days were rather lonely, so he thought of a plan to add some excitement to his life.
The boy decided to play a trick on the villagers. Whenever he felt bored, he would cry out, “Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is attacking the sheep!” The villagers would rush to his aid, only to find that there was no wolf. The boy would laugh at their gullibility.
This went on for some time, and the villagers grew tired of the false alarms. They stopped believing the boy’s cries for help. But one day, a real wolf appeared and attacked the sheep. The boy screamed for help, but the villagers thought it was another trick. They ignored him, and sadly, the wolf devoured the sheep.
The moral of the story is that dishonesty and deception have consequences. When we repeatedly deceive others, they may stop trusting us even when we genuinely need help.
