Jesus stepped into crossed ove and came ro his own town.
Some me brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat , When Jesus saw their faith , he said to the paralytic,"Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven,"
At thos, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves," This fellow is blaspheming1"
knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?
Which is easier; to say,Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Get up and walk?
But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins," Then he said to the paralytic,"Get up. take your mat and go home,"
And tjhe man got up and went home
When the cord saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God who had given such authority to men.
As Jesus wemt on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's bootj, "Follow me," he told him and Matthew got up amd followed him.
Which Jesus, many tax collectors and "sinners," came and ate with him and his disciples.
Where the Pharises saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with , tax collectors and sinners?"
On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick
But go and learn what this means, I desire merey, not sacrifice, For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners"
Then John's dosciples came and asked him,"How is it that we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?"
Jesus answered,"How can the guests of the bridgeroom mourn while he is withj them? The time will come when the bride groom will be taken from them then they willf ast.
"No one saws a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment , for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse.
Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins , If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined , No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved,"
While he was saying this a ruler came and knelt before him and said, "My daughter has just died. but come and put your hand on her, and she will live,"
Jesus got up and wdnt with him, and so did his disciples
Just thena woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came upbehind him and fouched the edge of his cloak.
She said to herself,"If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."
Jesus turned ands aw her, "Take heart daughter," he said,"your faith has healed you" And the woman was healed from that moment.
When Jesus entered the ruler's house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd.
he said," Go away, laughed at him.
After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand , and she got up
News of this spread through all that region.
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men fillowed him, calling out,"Have mercy on us, Som of David!"
When he had gone indoors, the blind menc ame to him, and he asked them,"Do you belive that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord" they replied.
Then he touched their eyes and said,"According to your faith will it be done to you,"
and their sight was restored, Jesus warned them sternly,"See that no one knows about this,"
But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.
While they were going our, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus.
And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israe;l."
But the Pharisees said, "It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons,"
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in tjeir synagogues, preaching theg ood news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
When he saw the crowds. he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentful but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Matthew 10
He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority tod rive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
These are the names of the twelve apostles; first Simon(who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew James son of Zebedee, am his brother John
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tex collector James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus
Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions."Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any twonm of tje Samaritians.
Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.
As you go, preach this message. "The kingdom of heaven is near.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse hose who have received, freely give.
Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts;
take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep.
"Whatever town or village you enter, search for some worthy person there and stay at hsi house until you leave.
As tou enter the home , give it your greeting.
I the home is deserving , let your peace rest on it, if it is not, let your peace return to you.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.
I tell you the trutj, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
I am sending you out like sheep among wolves, Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
"Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their symagogues.
On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At thant time you will be given what to say,
for it will not be you speaking but the Sprit of your Father speaking through you.
for it will not be you speaking but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
"Brother will betray brother to death,and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
All men will have you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will he saved.
When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another, I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes
"A student is not above his teacher, nor servant above his master.
It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master, If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!
"So do not be afraid of them, There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known
What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be agraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from teh will of your Father.
And even the very hairs of you r head are all numbered.
So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
"Whoever acknoledge me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.
But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace t thee arth, I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
For I have come to turn " A man against his father, a daughter -in-law-
a man's enemies will be members of his own houseold,
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
and anyone who does not take his cross and fillow me is not worrhy of me,
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever lofes his life for mys ake will find it.
"He who received you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me.
Abyone who receives a propbet because he is a prophet will receive prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteousman will receive a righteous man's reward.
And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.
