Freemasons open a lodge at Buckingham Palace… but the Queen isn’t amused
The Daily Mail ran this article on March 8th. Here are a few quotes:
“A branch of the Freemasons secret society is being formed by members of the Royal Household and police who protect the Royal Family.”
“The founding of the lodge has also alarmed some Royal staff who do not wish to be associated with the fraternity famed for bizarre initiation rites, mystical regalia and mysterious codes of conduct”.
“It is also likely to cause consternation among career women in the Palace, as it is a men-only organisation.”
The Royal Family has a Long Association with Freemasonry

King George VI was Queen Elizabeth’s father. (Edward is a cousin.) Another site Burbank Masonic Lodge No. 406 has an extensive article on King George VI’s Masonic activities. Quote:
“In 1935 he accepted and was installed Grand Master Mason of Scotland, and affiliated with the Lodge of Glamis, No. 99, Scotland, where his father-in-law, the Earl of Strathmore, was a Past Master.”
The Earl of Strathmore was Queen Elizabeth’s grandfather.
The Queen is the Head of The Church of England
