Jesus told his disciples; "There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions.
So he called him in and asked him, What is this I hear about you? Give ana ccount of your management, because you cannot be manager ant longer,
"The manager said to himself, What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job, I' m not strong eniugh to dig, and I'm ashamed to beg-
I know waht I'll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses,
"So he called in each one of his master's debtors. he asked the first, how much do you owe my master?"
"Eight hundred gallons of olive oil, he replied,:The manager told him,Taje your bille, sit down quickly, and lake it four hundred,
"Then he asked the second,"And how much do you owe?""A thousand bushels of wheat, he replied,"He told him, "Take your bill and make it egiht hundered."
"The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly, For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing people of thos world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.
I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted witj mush and whoever is dishonest with very lottle will also be dishonest with much.
So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with thru riches?
And if you have not been thrustworthy with someone else's [ro[erty, who will give you property of your own?
"No servant cans erve two masters. Either he will hate the one and Love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other, you cannot serve both God and Money."
The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.
He said to them,"You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts, What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight.
"The Law and the prophets were preclaimed until John, Since that thime, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is firching his way into it.
It is easier for heaven ande arth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law
"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.
At his gate was laid a beggare named ;Lazarus, covered with sores,
and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table Even the dogs came and licked his sores,
"The time came when the beggar died and teh angels carried him to Abraham;sm side The rich man also died and was buried,
In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far awy, with Lazarus by his side
So hec alled to him, Father Abrahan, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool mu tongue, because I am in agony in this fire,
"But Abraham replied, Son remember that isnyour lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received had things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
And beside all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed so that those who want to go from here fixed so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.
"He answered,"Then I beg you, father send Lazarus to my father's house.
for I have five brothers, Let him warn them, so taht they will not also come to this place of torment.
"Abrahan replied,"They have Moses and he prophets, let them listen to htem,
"No ,father Anraham, he said, but if someone from thed ead goes to them, the will repent.
"He said to him, If they do not listen Moses and the Prophet , they will not beconvinced even if someone rises from the dead."
Luke 17
Jesus said to his disciples; "Thin gs that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom theyc ome.
it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neek than for him toc ause one of these little ones to sin.y tree, Be uprooted and planted in thes ea, and it will obey you
So watch yourselves,"If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him,
If he sins against you weven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, I repent' for give him."
The apostles said to the Lord,"Increase our faith!"
He replied,"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and planted in tje sea, and it will oney you.
"Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking agter tehs heep. Would hes ay to the servant when he comes in from the field, Come along now and sit down to eat?
Would he not rather say, "Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink, after that you may eat and drink?
Would he thank thes ervant because he did waht he was told to do?
So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, We are unworthy servants we ahve only done our duty."
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border betweem Samaria and Galilee
As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance.
and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"
When he saw them, he said,"Go, show yourselves to the priests," And as they went, they were clansed.
One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praisng God in aloud voice
He threw himself as Jesus' feet and thanked him- and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus asked," Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"
Then he said to him,"Raise and go; your faith has made you well."
Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, jesus replied,"The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation,
nor will people say, "Here it is, or Tehre it is, because the kingdom of God is within you."
Then he said to his disciples," The time is coming when you will long to see one of thed ays of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
Men will tell you, "There he is! or Here he is!" Do not go running off after them.
For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lighjtning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.
But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
"Just as it was in thed ays of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
People were eating drinking marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered teh ark. Then the flood came andd estroyed them all.
"It was tehs ame in thed ays of lot, people were eating andd rinking buying and selling planting and building.
But tehd ay . Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from ehaven andd estroyed them all.
"It will be just like this on the day the Son of man is revealed.
On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down tog et them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.
Remember Lot's wife!
Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it. and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be taken and the other left."
"Where, Lord?" they asked, He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather."
Luke 18
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
He said,"In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about me.
And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, "Grant me justice against adversary,"
"For some time he refused . But finally he said to himself, Even thjough I don't fear God or care about men.
yet because this widow keeps bothering me. I wills ee that she gets justice so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!"
And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.
And will not God bring about justice for his showen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and qucikly, However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on thee arth?"
To some who were confident of their own rightreousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable
"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax cllector.
The Pharisee stood up and prayed about, himself; God I thank you that I am not like other men- robbers, evildoers ,adulterers- or even like this tax collector
I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.
:But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to ehaven, but beat his breast and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner,
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God, For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
People were also bring bahies to Jesus to have him thouch them. When the disciples saw this they rebuked them.
But Jesus called the children to him and said,"Let the little children com to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I tell you the trutjh, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
a certain riler asked him,"Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered,"No one is good- except God alone
You know the commandments, Co not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,"
:All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said,
When jesus heard this, he said to him,"You still lack one thing, Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven, Then come, follow me,
When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth,
Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for ther ich to enter the kingdom of God!
Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Those who heard this asked,"Who they can be saved?"
Jesus replied," What is impossible with men is possible with God."
Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!"
"I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them,"no one who has left home or wife or brothers or aprents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God
will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."
Jesus took the Twe;ve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfulled. He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him.
On the third day he will rise again."
The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and theu did not know what hew as talking about
As jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.
When he heard thec rowd going by, he asked what was happening
They told him,"Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,"
Thjose who led the way rebuked him and told him to beq uiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him, When he came near, jesus asked him.
"What do you want me to do for you?" Lord, I want to see," he replied.
Jesus said to him,"Receive your sight, your faith has healed you."
Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God, When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
