Thanks topics 2023
We thank God for giving us the Word, deepening our spiritual fellowship, and enabling us to
live as worshippers this past year through QT, Morning Prayer, and online Sunday services. We
are thankfull for allowing me to serve the offline Sunday service texts (Romans, Galatians,
Ephesians).
We thank God for establishing and launching the Academy of Reformed Theology (AERT) and
giving us new challenges. We are thankful for assigning a website manager and for the great
job he has done with the website ( http://www.aert-internationale.net).
We are grateful to have the Reformed Theological Seminary of Giessen (https://art-giessen.de/)
as a cooperative partner. We are grateful that they have graciously agreed to rewrite their
syllabus, based on their deep and systematic Reformed theology, to fit the aims and objectives
of our academy, and that they will be responsible for grading our students' part-time seminar
work.
We are grateful for the full support of Sudo International Graduate Theological Seminary in
South Korea, The missionstheologycal Academy (Thema) in Germany, and CUU in the United
States.
I thank God for the opportunity to speak on the Five Points of Calvinism at the German Leader
meeting. I am grateful for the new understanding that salvation and faith are not sensible things
that we can think, feel, touch, or experience, nor are they disposable and something that we can
choose for ourselves based on our free will, but rather they are graces that are chosen by God's
absolute sovereignty.
I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the Luther and the Reformation blog. I am also
grateful for the opportunity to renew the grace of God's absolute sovereign election and calling
through the life and ministry of Luther.
We thank God that M. Rebecca and our children are doing well in their careers, being used as
salt and light in the world, helping their friends and colleagues in word and prayer, and living
lives that honor God.
We are grateful for the opportunity to worship the baby Jesus with our children's friends in a
Christmas service based on Matthew 1:21.
We are grateful for Sister Ha-Young Kang from Andrews University in Scotland's visit to
Potsdam and for the Zoom meeting with some of the Daegu, Germany missionaries to pray with
each other.
2024 Preyer topics
Keyword of our Church “The Light of Gospel church” is Jesaja 43, 19:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.”
As we praise God for doing a new thing in our midst, we lift up the following prayer requests.
First, Please pray for deep spiritual fellowship with God through QT and early morning prayer,
and for good preparation of Bible study lesson plans and Sunday service sermons that shine the
light of right faith and right gospel.
Second, Please Pray that God will send spiritually prepared students to the Reformed Academy.
Pray that they will not be leaders who dream of a church-growth success-oriented ministry,
where the number of members or the outward appearance of a church is the success of the
ministry and the blessing of God, but that they will be leaders with the right faith and the right
gospel, contributing to the evangelization of Germany and Europe.
Third, Please pray that the missionary Luke Park will serve the academy well and work well
with other seminary professors to glorify God.
Forth, We pray that all who come to Light of the Gospel Church will hear the gospel of salvation,
encounter Jesus personally, and live a new life that honors God. In today's era where mystical
experience, charismaticism, passion for emotions and healing, and testimony and praise are
becoming more important than the truth of the gospel, I pray that we will be a church that
restores the Reformed faith and firmly establishes the truth of the gospe
Fifth, Please Pray that they will do well in the workplace, that they will meet God-ordained
partner, that they will have a sound faith and a sound gospel foundation, that they will grow
and become more like the Lord, and that they will live as salt and light in the world. We pray,
that Sarah Park can do well on the surgical residency exam.
