1. Occasionally, I will go on a trip without a plan because you can often find unexpected wonders by traveling without a plan. Take only a few things that are absolutely necessary and will fit in a small rucksack such as your wallet, a camera, and maybe a change of clothes. In a way, you do make a plan because you have to choose where you go, but after that it's quite invigorating to go somewhere without having anything definite to do in mind. Ask locals for hints and tips to find great places to go or eat. Lastly check all the relevant transportation schedules to make sure that you return in time to go back to work.
2. A fan film refers to a movie created by fanatics of a movie or a TV show rather than made by the original creator. Traditionally fan filmmakers have been non-professionals; however some films do get produced with a quality ricaling professional studios. Nevertheless, most of these 'fan films' are in some way inferior in quality as they don't have an unlimited production budget. Fan films were not really that populr of famous umtil recently, but with the ease of access of the Internet and video broadcast websites, production and distribution of fan films has become easy. Due to this phenomenon, commercial movie makers are trying to propose a bill that will help them continue to increase recenue by copyrighting independent filmmakers' work.
3. The Battle of Thermopylae took place in 480 B.C. where an alliance of Greeks tried to stop the advance of the Persian army by defending a narrow pass. In the Greek language, 'thermo' means 'heat' and 'pylae' means 'gate' whcih when combined means 'the hot gates' or Thermopylae. Although vastly outnumbered, the Greek allied army held the Persian army for seven days before being betrayed and subsequently out-flanked. Contrary to poplular myth, however, there were more than 7,000 men in the Greek army, consisting of soldiers from many city-states, rather than only three hundred Spartans led by King Leonidas. The battle of Thermopylae was lost, but modern and ancient writers alike use this famous battle to exemplify how an army defending its native soil can be more effective than its relative size would suggest.
