문1. 문: 사람의 제일 되는 목적이 무엇입니까?
답: 사람의 제일 되는 목적은 하나님을 영화롭게 하고, 하나님으로 말미암아 영원토록 즐거워하는 것입니다.

Q1: What is the chief end of man?
A: Man’s chief end is to glorify God1, and to enjoy Him forever2.
1. Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (1Corinthians 10:31, KJV).

Q2: What rule hath God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him?
A: The Word of God, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments1, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him.
1. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone]; (Ephesians 2:20, KJV).
All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2Timothy 3:16, KJV).
2. That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. (1John 1:3, KJV).

A: The Scriptures principally teach what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man.1

A: God is a Spirit1, infinite2, eternal3, and unchangeable4, in his being5, wisdom6, power7, holiness8, justice, goodness, and truth9.

A: The work of creation is, God's making all things of nothing1, by the word of his power2, in the space of six days, and all very good3.

2. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3, KJV).
