도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령은 2026년 미국의 독립 250주년(Semiquincentennial)을 맞아 기념일 전야인 7월 3일 저녁 조지 워싱턴, 토머스 제퍼슨, 에이브러햄 링컨, 시어도어 루스벨트 등 4명의 전직 대통령 두상이 새겨진 사우스 다코타(South Dakota)주 러시모어 산(Mount Rushmore) 기념공원에서 역사적인 연설을 거행했다.

이번 연설은 "하나님 아래 하나의 국가(One Nation Under God)"라는 미국의 정체성을 확고히 하고, 전통적 보수 가치를 파괴하려는 흐름에 맞서 건국 정신을 수호하겠다는 강력한 선언이었다.

트럼프 대통령의 250주년 기념 전야 연설은 미국의 예외주의(American Exceptionalism)를 찬양하는 동시에, 그동안 추진해 온 강경한 보수주의 정책 기조를 집대성한 무대였다. 그는 미국이 직면한 내부적·외부적 위협을 진단하고, 성경적 가치관과 법치주의를 바탕으로 한 국가 재건을 선언했다.

1. 공산주의 및 극좌 이념 경고: 크리스천과 공산주의의 절대적 불상용성

트럼프 대통령은 "공산주의는 대량 절도, 대량 통제, 대량 거짓말, 대량 학살의 이데올로기"이며, "지난 1세기 동안 1억 명 이상을 죽였다"면서, 현재 미국 자유에 대한 가장 치명적인 위협(mortal threat)으로 내부에서 확산되는 마르크스주의적 흐름을 정면으로 비판하며 "미국은 결코 공산주의 국가가 될 수 없다"고 했다.

(1) 선명한 정체성 요구

트럼프 대통령은 연설에서 "당신은 카를 마르크스에게 충성할 수도 있고, 미국에 충성할 수도 있다. 공산주의자가 될 수도 있고, 애국자가 될 수도 있다. 하지만 둘 다 될 수는 없다"고 단언했다.

(2) 미국 역사 파괴에 대한 제동

미국의 건국 조상들과 영웅들을 '억압자'로 폄하하는 극좌 진영의 역사 왜곡을 "아이들의 미래를 공격하는 마르크스주의적 거짓말"로 규정했다.

 트럼프 대통령이 이처럼 공산주의에 반대하는 이유는 그가 크리스천이기 때문이다. 크리스천이 좌파·공산주의자가 될 수 없는 이유는 다음과 같다.

●유물론적 무신론 반대: 

공산주의는 "종교는 인민의 아편"이라며 신(神)을 부정하지만, 크리스천은 전능하신 하나님의 주권을 믿기 때문에 결코 양립할 수 없다.

●창조 질서 수호: 

극좌 이념(문화 마르크스주의)은 전통 가족과 성별 구분을 해체하려 하지만, 기독교는 하나님이 제정하신 신성한 가정과 남녀의 창조 질서를 지킨다.

●천부인권과 사유재산: 

국가가 모든 것을 통제하는 전체주의적 사회주의와 달리, 성경은 하나님이 주신 인간의 자유의지와 정당한 노동에 따른 사유재산권("도둑질하지 말라")을 인정한다.

●인간의 죄성 인정: 

인간의 힘으로 지상 낙원을 만들 수 있다는 좌파적 유토피아 환상은 성경이 말하는 인간의 죄성을 간과한 교만(바벨탑)이다.

2. 기독교적 관점에서의 DEI(다양성·형평성·포용성) 폐지 명분

트럼프 행정부와 미국 보수 교계는 DEI 정책이 사회를 통합하기보다, 오히려 분열시키고 성경적 정의에 어긋난다고 보며, 이를 전면 퇴출해야 한다고 강조한다.

(1) 달란트와 능력주의(Meritocracy)의 회귀

기독교는 모든 인간이 하나님의 형상대로 창조되었으며, 각자에게 고유한 은사(달란트)를 주셨다고 믿는다. 인위적인 인종·성별 쿼터를 강요하는 DEI는 하나님이 주신 개인의 능력과 정당한 노력을 훼손하므로, 이를 폐지하고 공정한 능력 중심 사회를 복원해야 한다.

(2) 젠더 이데올로기 차단

공공기관과 교육계의 DEI 프로그램에 포함된 급진적 성정치학 및 낙태 옹호 흐름을 막아내고, 성경적 도덕관을 교육 현장에 되돌려놓겠다는 의지를 천명했다.

3. 강력한 국경 통제: 인신매매단과 마약 카르텔 차단 성과

트럼프는 국가의 주권과 국민의 안전을 지키는 '법과 질서(Law and Order)'를 바로 세운 것을 자신의 가장 큰 치사로 내세웠다.

(1) 마약 카르텔 무력화

남부 국경을 철저히 봉쇄하여 미국의 수많은 젊은이를 죽음으로 몰아넣던 멕시코 카르텔의 펜타닐 등 치명적인 마약 유입을 원천 차단했다.

(2) 현대판 노예제(인신매매) 근절

불법 이민의 그늘에서 자행되던 가장 악랄한 범죄인 여성 및 아동 대상 인신매매(Human Trafficking) 조직을 소탕하여 인간의 존엄성을 지켜냈다.

도널드 트럼프 대통령의 독립 250주년 전야 연설은 단순히 지나간 역사를 기념하는 자리가 아니었다. 그것은 하나님을 부정하고(무신론), 창조 질서를 파괴하며(극좌 이념), 국가가 신의 자리를 대신하려는 모든 좌파적 시도에 대한 거룩한 경고였다.

미국 보수 진영과 크리스천들에게 공산주의 및 극좌 사상은 신앙 양심상 결코 타협할 수 없는 절대적 대척점임을 명확히 하고, 성경적 가치와 강력한 안보를 통해 미국의 '찬란한 황금기'를 열어가겠다는 확고한 다짐을 보여준 역사적 선언이었다.

Nothing like it. In all the Chronicles of the ages, never before has any nation celebrated so magnificent a triumph as this one, the one that we are participating in right now. At 250 years, America is the oldest republic on earth. We are the freest people on earth. We have the most righteous and enduring constitution on earth.

We are the strongest and most powerful country on earth. And by the grace of God, the United States of America is the most successful, most accomplished, most exceptional nation ever to exist in human history, and it is great to be your president. It is great. For a quarter of a millennium, liberty, justice, equality, self-government, and unmatched prosperity have flourished here as they have never flourished anywhere before.

There is nothing like what we are doing. The birth and survival of the American nation under God is quite simply the best and most incredible thing ever to happen on this planet by human hands ever. That is ever, ever, ever. No other country has done more good for this world than the United States of America.

우리가 하고 있는 일만큼 좋은 일은 없습니다. 하나님 아래 미국 국가의 탄생과 생존은 인간의 손으로 이 지구상에서 일어난 가장 훌륭하고 놀라운 일입니다. 바로 그 어느 나라도 미국만큼 이 세상에 좋은 일을 해내지 못했습니다.

And we give thanks for these extraordinary blessings. We remember that what we have created in this country is not the natural way of the world. It is not the norm. It is the exception. It is rare. It is priceless, and it is truly miraculous. Throughout the entire story of humanity, most people in most places have lived a life plagued by suffering, poverty, exploitation, violence, and misery.

But here in America, in this land on this continent, we have written a very different story. It's a tale of adventure, liberation, and unmatched greatness. It's the story of people governing themselves. The many uniting as one, the men and women rising by their own skill and talent to go further and reach higher than anyone has ever gone before.

There has never been anything like this. The triumph of American independence was the result of the most extraordinary people in history, the most extraordinary culture in history, and the most extraordinary ideas in history, all creating the most extraordinary republic ever, ever, ever in history. It all came together for the miracle of July 4th, 1776. That was a big year. 250 years ago tomorrow, what a big day that is. I consider this a big day because I'm with you.

이런 일은 없었습니다. 미국 독립의 승리는 역사상 가장 비범한 사람들, 역사상 가장 비범한 문화, 역사상 가장 비범한 사상의 결과로, 모두 역사상 가장 비범한 공화국을 탄생시켰습니다. 1776년 7월 4일의 기적을 위해 모든 것이 모였습니다. 정말 큰 한 해였습니다. 250년 전 내일, 정말 큰 날입니다. 제가 이 날을 중요한 날로 여기는 이유는 여러분과 함께 있기 때문입니다. 

I like that too. And by the way, we won big here. We won really big, each, each and every time. But 250 years ago tomorrow, the words of our Declaration of Independence sent an earthquake through all of the coming time. They sparked a revolution that has never ended but still continues to this day. And tonight we come to this beautiful mountain, and it is beautiful to express our gratitude to those who made it possible, starting with the four men most responsible for reaching this milestone more than any others.

We salute the father of our country, George Washington, the author of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson, the great emancipator and savior of our union, Abraham Lincoln and the man who built America into a global superpower, Theodore Roosevelt. These are the men who declared the freedom, won our freedom, saved our freedom and secured our freedom.

They were men of action, men of ambition, men of daring, men of destiny and men of truly great intelligence. Above all, they were great men of history. Tonight on the threshold of our 250th year, we stand beneath the monument of these heroes, a true group of unbelievable people and we rededicate ourselves to being a nation as big, bold, noble, and as great as these American giants and that's not easy to do, but we're going to do it. These men could only have been made in the USA. Their faces are engraved on these bluffs, not only because of what they did but to remind us forever who we are.

These heroes exemplify what is timeless enduring and eternal about the American character. And in the end, it has always been that character distinct and unique identity. It is a truly unique identity and it'll never change. It's the ultimate source of our strength and the bulwark of our freedom. On this anniversary, we must remember, we have to remember we can never forget that American liberty is not endured for 250 years merely because of words on paper.

Liberty has prevailed here because of the culture and character of the people who declared it, defended it and preserved it. These are very, very special times and this is a very special place. You live in a very special place. Congratulations, everybody. The identity of a nation is the destiny of a nation and America has a destiny like no other because we are a people like no other.

For whatever reason, that's just the way it is. Here the old world sent its bravest, boldest, and most resilient. It's fiercest, most faithful, and freedom loving. These men and women brought values, traditions, and customs transmitted over the centuries in Britain and stretching back even further to Athens, Jerusalem, and Rome.

The United States of America is where the greatest civilization in human history became greater than ever before on the grounds and granite hills and the rugged plains of this wide open continent, they forged a uniquely American character, a new breed of citizen. That's you. Congratulations. Congratulations.

미국은 인류 역사상 가장 위대한 문명이 그 어느 때보다 거대해진 땅과 화강암 언덕, 넓은 개방된 대륙의 험준한 평원에서 독특한 미국적 성격을 형성한 곳입니다. 바로 여러분입니다. 축하합니다. 축하합니다.

You're not that new a breed. You're a really good breed, but I'm not sure that you're that new a breed. Americans did not bow before a king or a government, but kneeled only before Almighty God. That's right. These were the people who founded our republic. These were the patriots who fought for independence.

여러분은 그렇게 새로운 계통의 사람이 아닙니다. 여러분은 정말 좋은 부류의 사람이지만, 그렇게 새로운 지는 잘 모르겠습니다. 미국인들은 왕이나 정부 앞에서 절하지 않고 전능하신 하나님 앞에서만 무릎을 꿇었습니다. 맞습니다. 이들이 우리 공화국을 세운 사람들입니다. 독립을 위해 싸운 애국자들입니다.

This was the spirit that demanded freedom and this was the culture that built America and carved its heroes into Mount Rushmore. For generations, it was understood that the core of patriotic duty of every American was to pass this culture onto our children and to preserve the nation for centuries and centuries to come.

이것이 자유를 요구하는 정신이었고, 이것이 바로 미국을 건설하고 그 영웅들을 러쉬모어 산에 새긴 문화였습니다. 세대에 걸쳐 모든 미국인의 애국적 의무의 핵심은 이 문화를 우리 아이들에게 전수하고 앞으로 수세기와 수세기 동안 국가를 보존하는 것으로 이해되었습니다.

But in recent years, there's been an undeniable attempt to change this exceptional character, to beat the American spirit out of us, alienate us from our history and to make it impossible to even answer the question, what does it mean to be an American? As we march into our 250th year, incredible, beautiful year it will be, we must never forget there is no American freedom without American culture.

And there is no American founding without the American people. Many nations have paper constitutions and legal systems, but the citizens live in fear and squalor. A constitution is only as strong as the people and the culture responsible for upholding it. But as long as we remember who we are, we have to always remember who we are and what we're all about.

그리고 미국 국민 없이 미국 건국은 존재하지 않습니다. 많은 국가가 종이 헌법과 법적 제도를 가지고 있지만, 시민들은 두려움과 천박함 속에서 살아가고 있습니다. 헌법은 헌법을 수호하는 데 책임이 있는 국민과 문화만큼이나 강력합니다. 하지만 우리가 누구인지 기억하는 한, 우리는 항상 우리 자신이 누구인지, 우리가 무엇인지 기억해야 합니다.

The United States of America will forever be the land of free men and women and we will never ever fail. So tonight, let us say clearly and proudly what makes Americans so unique and extraordinary. We're going to give our country its identity back. Above all Americans love freedom. We cherish independence and we know that we are the heirs to the most beautiful land, the most thrilling story, and the most precious legacy on which the sun has ever shined.

미국은 영원히 자유로운 남녀의 땅이 될 것이며 결코 실패하지 않을 것입니다. 그래서 오늘 밤, 미국인들이 그토록 독특하고 특별한 이유를 분명하고 자랑스럽게 말씀드리겠습니다. 우리는 우리나라의 정체성을 되찾아줄 것입니다. 무엇보다도 미국인들은 자유를 사랑합니다. 우리는 독립을 소중히 여기며, 우리가 태양이 빛나는 가장 아름다운 땅, 가장 짜릿한 이야기, 가장 소중한 유산의 계승자라는 것을 알고 있습니다.

In America, we do not need anyone's permission to say what we think and to live as we please, to worship as we choose, or to keep and bear arms. You know that. And for almost six years during my presidency, I've saved, almost single-handedly, but working with John and some other great people, we've saved your Second Amendment and I will continue to do so, I promise.

미국에서는 우리가 생각하는 대로 말하고 원하는 대로 살거나, 원하는 대로 예배하거나, 무기를 들고 있을 때 누구의 허락도 필요하지 않습니다. 아시다시피 저는 대통령 재임 기간 거의 6년 동안 거의 혼자서 구했지만, 존과 다른 훌륭한 사람들과 함께 일하면서 여러분의 수정헌법 제2조를 구했고 앞으로도 그렇게 할 것을 약속드립니다.

Our rights here given to us by the God who made us and those rights shall not be infringed. Americans believe in self-reliance. We look at success with envy not, and I say that, some people are envious and some people are not. We are not, but with admiration and we earn it and we will always earn it and we will always respect it. We are an incredible, good, kind, and generous people, always ready to help a friend or a neighbor in need.

We are a nation of dreamers and believers, warriors and explorers, doers and fighters.

In every human endeavor, Americans see an unfinished competition. What is strong can be made stronger. What is fast can be made faster. What is great can be made greater than ever before and that's what's happening with America. Show us a mountain and we'll just climb it. Show us an ocean and we'll just cross it. Show us a problem and we will just solve it. Show us a task the world calls impossible and Americans will get it done.

Americans are strong and always ready to stand firm for a good cause. We treasure justice, fairness, family, honesty and human dignity, unlike societies based on class, clan, or tribe. We see every citizen as an individual equal under the law and equal under the eyes of the Lord. In America, we speak English because that is the language of our founding and for a thousand years [Laughs] that has been the language of freedom.

미국인들은 강하고 항상 좋은 대의를 위해 굳건히 설 준비가 되어 있습니다. 우리는 계급, 씨족, 부족에 기반한 사회와 달리 정의, 공정, 가족, 정직, 인간의 존엄성을 소중히 여깁니다. 우리는 모든 시민을 법 아래에서는 평등하고, 주님의 눈 아래에서는 평등한 개인으로 봅니다. 미국에서는 우리가 영어를 사용하는 이유는 그것이 건국의 언어이고 천 년 동안 자유의 언어였기 때문입니다. [웃음].

An American always wants peace and order, but we will never shrink from danger or threat. We will always fight, fight, fight and win, win, win. We gotta do that. Because this is our culture. This is our character. Not every American has all of these things, but every American knows these are the traits that make our country exceptional and exceptional it is. You do not have to be born here, but you do have to love what we have built.

You must love our country. There has never been anything like us anywhere on earth and we are not going to let anyone take that away. Yet as we approach this magnificent anniversary, we see our American identity under a renewed attack, a generation after we fought and won the Cold War against the menace of communism.

여러분은 우리 나라를 사랑해야 합니다. 지구상 어디에도 우리와 같은 나라는 없었고, 우리는 누구도 그것을 빼앗지 못하게 할 것입니다. 하지만 이 장엄한 기념일에 다가오면서 공산주의의 위협에 맞서 싸우고 승리한 지 한 세대 만에 미국의 정체성이 새롭게 공격받는 것을 보게 됩니다.

There is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land, including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life and our great success. These are not mere political disagreements like differences over taxes or regulations. Communism is a mortal threat to American liberty.

이제 우리의 삶과 큰 성공에 완전히 반대되는 생각을 받아들이는 우리나라에 새로 온 사람들을 포함하여 우리 땅에 공산주의 위협이 다시 나타나고 있습니다. 이는 세금이나 규정에 대한 이견과 같은 단순한 정치적 이견이 아닙니다. 공산주의는 미국의 자유에 치명적인 위협입니다.

It is the greatest threat to our country, including World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or even 9/11. Uh, we're not gonna let this happen to us. Believe me, we're not letting it happen. Because communism is the enemy of free people everywhere, everywhere in the world. Never works. It's the enemy of the Constitution.

제1차 세계대전, 제2차 세계대전, 진주만, 심지어 9/11테러까지 우리나라에 대한 가장 큰 위협입니다. 우리는 이런 일이 일어나도록 내버려두지 않을 것입니다. 공산주의는 전 세계 어디에서나 자유로운 사람들의 적이기 때문입니다. 결코 통하지 않습니다. 헌법의 적입니다.

Above all, it's the enemy of July 4th, 1776. It is the enemy indeed. Even while the radicals and extremists attack our incredible history at every turn, they are silent on the miserable history of communism itself because it never worked. Thousands of years, if you look at it under different names, under somewhat different ideologies and systems, that system has led to more death and destruction than any system ever tried.

무엇보다도 1776년 7월 4일의 적입니다. 바로 그 적입니다. 급진주의자들과 극단주의자들은 우리의 놀라운 역사를 매 순간 공격하지만, 공산주의 자체의 비참한 역사는 결코 효과가 없었기 때문에 침묵하고 있습니다. 수천 년, 서로 다른 이름으로, 다소 다른 이념과 체제로 보면 그 체제는 그 어떤 체제보다도 더 많은 죽음과 파괴를 초래했습니다.

It killed 100 million people just in the last century alone. Communism is the exact opposite of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It's death, tyranny, and the pursuit of evil. The godless communist morality states that anything is justified to bring about inhuman visions and a pro- -- and to really propose what's good.

지난 세기에만 1억 명의 목숨을 앗아갔습니다. 공산주의는 삶, 자유, 행복 추구와는 정반대의 개념입니다. 죽음, 폭정, 악의 추구입니다. 신이 없는 공산주의 도덕은 비인간적인 비전과 옹호를 가져오고, 무엇이 좋은 것인지 진정으로 제안하기 위해 무엇이든 정당화된다고 말합니다.

They don't want good. They don't love God and they don't want God. They don't love religion and they don't want religion, and they won't have it, but we will not let them win. They have no chance against us. They have no respect for law, justice, principle, tradition, or your God-given rights. It's an ideology of mass theft, mass control, mass lies, and mass murder.

Such doctrines can be given no quarter in a democracy because the first thing they do when they get into power is turn around and destroy it. It always is destroyed just as communists have done in other countries all over the world, no matter where you look. Very simply, communism represents the worst ideas and abuses in history by the worst people.

The American founding represents the best ideas and traditions in history by the best people, like you. You can be loyal to Karl Marx or you can be loyal to America. You can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both. As for those who pedal Marx's lies about our heritage, who tell our children that we live on stolen land or that our heroes were oppressors.

미국 건국은 여러분과 같은 최고의 사람들이 역사상 최고의 사상과 전통을 대표합니다. 칼 마르크스에게 충성할 수도 있고 미국에 충성할 수도 있습니다. 공산주의자가 될 수도 있고 애국자가 될 수도 있습니다. 둘 다 될 수는 없습니다. 마르크스가 우리 유산에 대해 거짓말을 하는 사람들, 우리 아이들에게 우리가 훔친 땅에 살고 있다고 말하거나 영웅들이 억압자였다고 말하는 사람들에 대해서는.

They're doing something much worse than slandering our past, they are slandering and attacking our future. Not gonna let that happen. They're trying to tear down the great American character to destroy the people who declared independence, who crossed to Delaware, who settled the west and conquered the skies.

Our heroes died to win, build and to save, and to build truly a great country, the greatest country ever in the world. [Audience members call out "USA"] So on the eve of this 250th anniversary of American heritage, we resolve and swear for all to hear that the citizens of the United States of America will vanquish communism quickly.

America will never be a communist country. We can only lose the midterms if we allow ourselves to lose the midterms if we are foolish, stupid and unwise. But if we terminate the filibuster as we should do and immediately vote for the Save America Act then we will not lose an election for a hundred years. We do that, we're not gonna lose an election for 100 years. [Audience members calls out "100 years"] The Communist Party is made up of illegal immigrants, criminals and everybody that doesn't want to work.

미국은 결코 공산주의 국가가 될 수 없습니다. 어리석고 바보같고 현명하지 않다면 중간선거에서 패배할 수밖에 없습니다. 하지만 우리가 해야 할 일처럼 필리버스터를 종료하고 즉시 세이브 아메리카 법안에 투표한다면, 우리는 100년 동안 선거에서 패배하지 않을 것입니다. 그렇게 하면 100년 동안 선거에서 패배하지 않을 것입니다. [청중들이 '100년'을 외쳤다.] 공산당은 불법 이민자, 범죄자, 그리고 일하고 싶지 않은 모든 사람들로 구성되어 있습니다.

Communism is a loser. It always was, and it is right now, it's a big loser. Look at the people that are promoting it. They are not the people [Laughs] you're going to follow. In 250 years, the free people of this land have accomplished more with our liberty than any other society has accomplished even in thousands and thousands of years as you look back and you study.

What our critics will never understand is that America is not the sum of its mistakes. Our mistakes make us human. Our achievements make us American and nobody has ever had the achievements that we've had. We are the nation that dreamed and created the modern world. We laid the railroads. We raised up those big, beautiful skyscrapers, harnessed electricity and invented the light bulb, the telephone, the airplane, the assembly line, the television, the microchip, the personal computer, the internet, the GPS, the smartphone and almost everything else that has ever been invented, including especially over the last few days in certain areas, a thing called air conditioning. [Laughter] We invented it all.

Americans fill the airwaves of the planet with our music and our culture. We invented baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, NASCAR and the rodeo.We love that rodeo of the West.

Americans have won the most Olympic medals of any country in the world by far. The most Nobel Prizes. Well, they haven't given me one. [Laughter] Settled eight wars, I still haven't gotten it. That's okay. And the most world records. We publish by far the most patents. We produce the best movies. We make the best music and we raise up the greatest entertainers and strongest athletes the world has ever seen.

미국인들은 지금까지 세계에서 가장 많은 올림픽 메달을 획득했습니다. 가장 많은 노벨상을 수상했습니다. 글쎄요, 그들은 저에게 한 개도 주지 않았어요. [웃음] 여덟 개의 전쟁을 해결했는데, 아직도 받지 못했지만, 괜찮습니다.그리고 가장 많은 세계 기록. 우리는 단연코 가장 많은 특허를 발행합니다. 우리는 최고의 영화를 제작합니다. 우리는 최고의 음악을 만들고, 세계에서 가장 위대한 연예인과 최강의 운동선수를 키웁니다.

So true. We built the biggest and most dynamic economy. And by the way, our country today is doing better than it's ever done before. Never had anything like it. With as of last week, $19.2 trillion pouring into the United States right now from all over the world. That's the investments being made and the record was three.

맞아요. 우리는 가장 크고 역동적인 경제를 구축했습니다. 그런데 오늘날 우리나라는 그 어느 때보다 잘하고 있습니다. 이런 일은 없었습니다. 지난주 기준으로 지금 전 세계에서 19조 2천억 달러가 미국으로 쏟아져 들어오고 있습니다. 이것이 바로 투자가 이루어진 것이며 기록은 세 건이었습니다.

For years and for years the last administration did much less than one. And we did 19.2 in 12 months. And thanks to our great election win, November 5th, and the tariffs, plants and factories are being built all over the United States right now. And they're being built at a number that we've never, ever seen before.

They wanna settle so badly. We gave them a week off for a funeral because we're nice. It's true. [Laughter] For 250 years, the entire world has looked to our country and been inspired by the leaps of progress, feats of strength and acts of selflessness, faith, and hope that could only have happened right here.

Two years ago, we were laughed at, mocked, and a nation in decline. We were in very serious decline. Last administration, what they've done to us, we can never, ever forget that. And today we are the hottest country anywhere in the world. Everybody respects us. Like no nation. Remember this, we're respected like no nation in the world is respected like us. Every king, every prime minister, every president, they respect us more than any other country by far.

2년 전, 우리는 비웃음 당하고, 조롱받았으며, 쇠퇴하는 국가였습니다. 우리는 매우 심각한 쇠퇴에 빠져 있었습니다. 지난 행정부, 그들이 우리에게 한 일은 결코 잊을 수 없습니다. 그리고 오늘날 우리는 전 세계에서 가장 뜨거운 나라입니다. 모두가 우리를 존중합니다. 어떤 나라도 마찬가지입니다. 기억하세요, 우리는 전 세계 어떤 나라도 우리처럼 존중받지 못합니다. 모든 왕, 모든 총리, 모든 대통령은 지금까지 우리를 다른 어떤 나라보다 존경합니다.

Two years ago they laughed at us. Now it's only respect. And I want to tell you the best is yet to come. So in conclusion, from the roaring waters of Niagara Falls to the shimmering gushers of oil and fire, from our beloved Texas, from the magnificent fields of corn and wheat and barley of our farms in the Midwest to the vast canyons of finance in New York City, from the billowing stacks of steel now being produced all over our country at record levels, to the car plants that are rising like we have never seen before.

2년 전만 해도 그들은 우리를 비웃었습니다. 이제는 존경심뿐입니다. 그리고 최선은 아직 오지 않았다는 것을 말씀드리고 싶습니다. 결론적으로 나이아가라 폭포의 뜨거운 물에서부터 반짝이는 기름과 불의 물결, 사랑하는 텍사스, 중서부에 있는 우리 농장의 웅장한 옥수수와 밀, 보리밭에서부터 뉴욕시의 거대한 금융 협곡에 이르기까지, 지금 우리나라 전역에서 기록적인 수준으로 생산되고 있는 철강 더미부터 우리가 본 적 없는 자동차 공장까지.

We have more plants under construction than we've had ever before. Automobile plants, something you didn't see of at all for 35 years, to technology from the minds of geniuses that is being brought to life in all corners of our country, from the snow cap peaks of the Rockies to the white sand shores of the Gulf of America.

우리는 그 어느 때보다 많은 공장을 건설 중입니다. 35년 동안 전혀 볼 수 없었던 자동차 공장부터 록키 산맥의 눈 덮인 봉우리부터 아메리카만의 백사장에 이르기까지 우리나라 곳곳에서 생명을 불어넣고 있는 천재들의 마음속 기술까지.

And you're right here in the Black Hills of the Dakotas. After 250 years, uh, American freedom still rings. The American dream still lives and the American flag still flies more proudly than ever before over the people who will not quit, the nation that will not fail, the country that will not fall. No matter how hard the enemy tries, we cannot be beaten.

그리고 여러분은 바로 여기 다코타의 블랙 힐스에 있습니다. 250년이 지난 지금도 미국의 자유는 여전히 울려 퍼집니다. 아메리칸 드림은 여전히 살아 있고, 미국 국기는 여전히 그 어느 때보다 자랑스럽게 포기하지 않을 사람들, 실패하지 않을 나라, 몰락하지 않을 나라 위에 휘날리고 있습니다. 적이 아무리 노력해도 우리는 이길 수 없습니다.

Tomorrow we reach a milestone like no other and celebrate with joyful hearts and soaring spirits because after two and a half centuries, we know that this is not an ending. This is only the beginning of the golden age of America. And together we will make America bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.
